My 2000 Chevy Astro van steering column is locked up. I have often sat items in front of the speedometer, on the column. Prior to the column locking up, my headlight began to malfunction, I used folded paper and dug into the cracks between the speedometer glass and the steering column. A Double A battery I had stored on the column fell or popped out. My guess is there maybe another one or 2 in there. Now I can not get the key to turn at all, nor the steering wheel. I can I get the rest of the rubbage out without damaging anything more? And get my vehicle to start. I can not turn the key, nor steering wheel.
