Mine did same thing I put in new thermostat and for slipping new sparkplug seemed to have fixed problem no more slipping no Ober heating either but always is around 215 220

Before you start looking at a new cooler or anything like that, be 100% certain that your transmission is appropriately filled. These transmissions seem to be very sensitive to fluid levels. A few weeks ago mine acted oddly, almost like it was slipping in 8-10th gears. The temp never got any hotter than about 218 deg, but the ULV fluid expands quite a bit as it warms and I found that my trans burped out some fluid out of the vent that's on top of the unit. Turns out that my trans was actually about 2 quarts too full. You absolutely MUST get these thing up to temp before you check the fluid level. You likely have a trans fluid to engine coolant heat exchanger. ULV is made to get reasonably hot, like close to engine temp hot. Because it's meant to get to those temps and ULV expands quite a bit as it heats up, and these transmissions are fluid level sensitive, you have to be very careful about checking your trans fluid level. Seriously, check that level first, maybe do a drain and fill... then get it hot (around 200 deg) and check the level... adjust from there and slowly so. My F150 has the max tow package so I already have an aux cooler and because my trans rarely goes above 203, it's not surprising that I didn't catch the overfull condition until it got hot enough to vent fluid.

@@akulahawk I tried refilling the transmission oil on high temp and made sure to measure throughout this whole thing. I am still facing the same issue. A friend of mine suggested that there might be an issue with the torque converter. Could it be?

@@hismuth3307 it's certainly possibly that your torque converter is the problem. If it's failing you could see some odd behaviors. Just know that these units are really sensitive to fluid level and if they get too full from heat expansion they can do some odd stuff. I'd say you should run this by a shop that's knowledgeable about these units as they're a bit different thanks to the computer control and adaptive shift learning.

Harbor freight makes cheap transfer pumps with a small hose that fits perfectly into the fill port

I had asked around as well they told me it’s better that the trans runs cold than being at 200 all the time.
