Does your family enjoy paper crafting and hands-on education opportunities? Are you thinking about making lapbooking a part of your homeschool routine? The possibilities for lapbooks in homeschool are truly endless--they can range from very simple projects to very complex projects. You can create a lapbook that is completely original and of your own design, or you can purchase a pre-designed lapbooking kit, like we did. Make sure you stay tuned to the end of this video for a peek inside the Sonlight lapbook we have been working on over the past year. The Sonlight curriculum company is one that we have used and recommended for years. Would you be interested in seeing more homeschool curriculum content on our channel?

There are so many different ways to do it, but I love using this type of approach where you learn material, and then organize it in your own way. This has worked great for Sarah because she loves crafts!

Oh I think this is an amazing idea!!! I might implement this in my classroom I teach freshmen and I think they would enjoy it. I’ll have to plan about this over the summer. Sarah did a superb job and so did you! I agree older learners still like crafts. My high schoolers love to color a lot of times after a hard test I will have them draw pictures for vocab words and color them just to do something fun while still learning. These lapbooks are seriously so cool! How have I not hear of these?!? Oh I’m getting mine off teachers pay teacher I love teachers pay teachers. I’ll have to look into sunlight curriculum haven’t hear of that either. Love history so much!! I teach civics I incorporate a lot of history in my class but would love to teach American History. Oh wow I am so totally sold on this! Love the famous business men flaps and the mock newspaper!!!!!

I completely agree that a lot of high schoolers still love hands-on and craft-type activities! My husband teaches high school Spanish and they definitely still love coloring and creating. What I have loved about this is that it's one big ongoing project that we're working on periodically throughout the year, I could definitely see it working well in a classroom, too!

Seven In All yes I love that too! And if you finish your lesson early you could just tell the kids to get out their lapbooks to work on even if they don’t have a new assignment for it they could decorate previous work

I see lapbook for the first time and it looks like really great idea to prepared project for it, to sum up studied material. I still have questions about homeschooling maths and science for higher grades. My son is 11 which is 6th grade in Russia, his maths is so difficult now that I cannot help him with it, nex year he is going to study phisics and a year later chemistry. I am an absolute fool in them. Do you really teach, explain and check such difficult subject or your sister studies them by herself and sends to a teacher?
@SevenInAll
@SevenInAll 4 жыл бұрын
Hi! We do teach these subjects at home, but we use curriculum, which helps us a lot, so it's not that I have to have every math skill or every science fact memorized, I just use the curriculum and follow along with the textbook. Right now, Sarah is doing Algebra for math and Biology for Science, and we have a textbook for each of those subjects, and then she takes tests after each chapter in the textbook. If I come to something I don't understand how to teach, then I might look up videos on Khan academy or KZfaq to help explain it. Sometimes, when we're homeschooling, the teacher and student are figuring out the problem together! When I was homeschooled in high school, I did take physics, chemistry, and calculus, just following textbooks, doing the problems, and taking the tests at home. A good textbook and curriculum can make all the difference! I'm sorry I don't think I have curriculum recommendations because you teach in Russian, right? I only know English curriculum. Sorry!

@@SevenInAll Curriculum, that's the key, now I see. I don't teach at home, but help my son sometimes when he has problems but I never saw any Curriculum for homeschooling here. Usually kids with health problems homeschool here and it was a surprise for me to learn that so many families chose it in other countries.
