Adaptogenic Date Shake Recipe:
Blend:
1 banana
8oz alt-milk of choice
Herbs of choice! I used 2 tsp maca and 1 tsp ashwagandha powders
1 TBSP nut or coconut butter (unsweetened coconut flakes are also great)
1 - 2 dates (Swap: lucuma powder, maple syrup, or omit extra sweetener)
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Any other spices you like. I recommend cinnamon, cardamom or even a pumpkin piece spice blend
Dash of salt, if nut butter was unsalted
Toppings:
Mulberries

Yes! So interesting how stress can manifest in so many different ways (even positive!) We'll have another episode on more lesser-known adaptogens soon, so you'll have lots of options to look in to :)

What do you recommend the dosage for ashwagandha should be for sleep and anxiety? I wholeheartedly agree that the typical dosages don't seem to do justice.

I've heard that Ashwagandha needs to be cycled on and off for maximum benefits? What's your professional opinion? Also, I've been taking Rnbodiola consistently, should I cycle off for maximum benefits?
@AlyxGlide
@AlyxGlide 2 жыл бұрын
I cycle it as I do caffeine, which is sparingly when stressed & looking to overcome such stress for a little while

Yea, it's basically stated in the name. Adaptogen. It's not meant for continuous use. Don't take it every day. I don't even take Maca everyday. I'll do 2 days, then not use it. Then use it again another two days.

Diet and Excersize. You have to lose weight. High blood pressure means your heart is working harder than should be. That means, less meat, more veggies. Go for walks and ten minutes worth of excersize on a consistent basis. Less process, more whole foods

I was a daily kratom user for 2 years and I stopped about 5 weeks ago. I’m an extremely high performer, self employed in a high creativity high pressure job. I’m struggling immensely with the absence of kratom. My brain has completely tanked and all of my anxiety and depression prior to the kratom has rebounded and amplified. Just curious if you had any thoughts or recommendations on herbs (etc) that may help to quickly rebuild my brain and strengthen it again to regain a normal baseline. Either way thanks so much for the videos. I enjoy watching them! :)

it hasn't rebounded nor amplified, it only feels that way. Kratom has an opioid effect: so your suffering "withdrawals" also the stimulant effect of the Kratom will probably leave you reeling as well. I hope you weaned off not cold turkey'd. always ease in and ease out of supplements. See a clinical herbalist if you're struggling Intensely.

Hi there. Thank you for the response. I stayed strong for around 5 weeks. So, judging by my comment I must’ve relapsed within a day or two of my comment. I’m definitely in a darker place than I ever thought possible, but getting sober is weighing on my mind every single day. Thank you for all that you do for everyone here. I hope you are well and I apologize for bringing negative energy into your channel. ❤

I heard that ashwagandha does something with testosterone? I already have hair on places that I don't like and less hair on the scalp. So can't I use it? If you want someone to help you to decide what are the best adaptogen for you, then who would you ask? Someone how practice Chinese medicine? I'm looking for the right ones for me and my son who just got 12 years old. I hope you will respond ❤️
