Brilliant. Thank you Sir. I am 45 and only just beginning to learn about electronics. I am partially disabled so I have lots of time these days to learn things for my own pleasure. I have just bought my first breadboards and I am soaking up as much info as I can. Thank you again.

Dumb question I know, Is there a front and back side to the resistor line there is on a cap? I am sorry for asking but I would like to do this correctly. Very respectfully David P, Gill Spokane WA. USA

Resistors are non-polarized but capacitors can be either polarized or non-polarized. With polarized capacitors look for a positive of negative symbol on the device and often one lead (normally the positive) will be longer.

You could try to insulate one room in your house from electrical fields and radio frequencies. This works much like a faraday cage and can be very expensive. Sheeting and screening of very fine metal mesh is fitted to all walls ceilings and floors, and shunted to ground rods.
