In this video, I review the BEST fitness app for weightlifting. I've been using Fitbod for years to build up my fitness and strength. Ingot it for $45 for the year, regular 59.99. Free trial was 3 days but some podcasters have their own promo codes for 7 day free trial

I used up the free trial and immediately subscribed from my 4th day; I love it and have been doing it every day for a week now. And right, the structure! It feels like having a personal trainer. And I have no time to go to the gym or pay a trainer, so this app, a squat rack and bench is enough.

Three month update; I've used it literally everyday, short sessions 30-45 minutes, but every day. Until something better comes out I can see myself having an annual subscription of this for years.

@@babygravy7 Of course. I go within a few reps of failure regularly, heavy loads, fewer reps, progressive overload and six to seven times a week 30 minute sessions. At first I could barely deadlift my weight and now I'm up to 150% my weight. I don't see myself regularly going to a gym really ever; I'm planning on adding a treadmill eventually. One thing though, I am thinking about paying a personal trainer to actually come to my home a few times to help me with form; we'll see.

Been using this app for a couple years & like it a lot. One thing you might add, at the top center, you can choose your location or setup. I have one for my home gym and one for the gym. Very helpful. Thanks man. Great vid!

So this app gives me the workout plans everyday right or do I need to input what I wanna work on every single time? I have a home gym and been working out at ho.e for about 3 years and love it. However it will be nice to have some extra workout plans just to change it up I guess

I can't find the option to save a custom workout. I'm on Android so they I guess they just don't bother updating that version.

Too short review of 1 exercise log. Input is half the story. Missing What logs, charts, follow up does it do?

Oh also, does this create a program or is it more of a workout to workout basis? Like, are there hypertrophy/strength phases, rest weeks and such? Or does it generate workouts the same way until you change the parameters?

The only real gripe I have is that I set the app for a 2 hour workout, it just gives me a 45 minute routine. I wonder if it's because I'm newish to the app?

I'm confused if on the max effort I change the numbers to match what I've been maxing at, example it says 5+, I do 12, do I put in 12, or just log 5+

so on some of the exercises, if I am on set 1 or 4, it says log set and next exercise which when on set 1 takes me to the next exercise when I actually have 2 more sets to do. . On others it has log set that takes you to set 2 like it should. Any idea why on some sets it says log set and next exercise. This makes it very clumsy when this happens.

It will immediately take you to the next exercise if you are doing a superset. Meaning you do both exercises back to back (no break) as one single super set

i believe you would have to create a custom workout. From there you can search the target muscles and create the workout using the recommended exercises for that specific muscle group

Once you start your workout, do you just look at the exercise on the app and then do the exercise or do you actually look at your phone at the same time you do the exercise?

I'm pretty sure u just see the exercise on the app and how many reps and sets u have to do. If its like most apps there are links to a video tutorial if ur unfamiliar with he movement

Quick question, I have just finished my first workout with this and was under the impression that there was an AI adapting the weight and number of sets automatically depending on your performance and input. Is that the case? Because so far it seemed to have suggested starting weights and reps but didnt seem to care if I could do them or not. It just changed the value to whatever I told it I did and went from there...

You have to tell the app in the “difficultly” button under a workout and it’ll change. Otherwise it just gives you numbers and you do it. My app knows what is hard for me

I love this app but I do miss a better progress tab. I would like to see if my muscle groups improve over time. For example a graph that will show my progress on the deadlift

No, you just do the number of reps it tells you to do and then log it when you’re done so it tracks it for you.

Unfortunately after the first 3 workouts the app cost money, but it is a very reasonable amount, I think it is totally worth it.

Do one exercise then move quickly on to the next (without, or with very little, rest). Then take a little bit of rest in between each superset.
