I work with this a lot! I use sent from/to because I’m in charge of processing a shared email where we are required to reply to that same email to mark it as completed. I have things I’m sending from my personal email to the shared email automatically mark as read in my inbox, but they could just as easily go to archive. It keeps me from having to mark tons of emails from myself as read. I also use date filters to frequently search and archive my entire inbox aside from important emails (I label them and then ask the system to ignore that label when archiving). That way I can have a mostly empty mailbox while not needing to archive every email manually. I’m still trying to see if there’s a way to have emails I send with certain labels automatically forward to an email after I’ve sent a response to the first email, but that has been stumping me. For example, I might want to send an email responding to someone, and then have that response forwarded to a filing system. I can’t just cc it though, because of system limitations.

May be interesting to explain that terms inside parenthesis are treated as AND, unless there's ORs separating the terms. Not sure if you knew but curly braces are OR. For instance, your search could be written as: subject:{(+invoice +attached) (+bill gas) (invoice you)}

Thank for the tutorial. I have a question. Incase I have mails for a particular project for which Subject line has "Project Name | Invoice" and I already have a filter under the project name, but I want invoices to go to another filter ie. under the Invoice filter. Is there a way to do so? Right now I can see the same email in both the filters which I would like to avoid.

Great video, can you please tell me, is there a method I can use to move emails from a specific sender to a label of my choice? I have a Label called General, however emails I received from a specific person I want to move to their own Label which I have created. There are years of emails from this person so doing this one by one would be very labor intensive. Thanks for any advice you can offer. Much appreciated..!

I have used labels on gmail for several years however yesterday they all disappeared! When I now go to each label folder, it says "There are no conversations with this label"!! They are not in my trash or spam. Any idea how to retrieve them?

This may sound really complicated. Im trying to make a dashboard for my KZfaq stats. I want to be able to look up which video has the max/min of something ie. views from a different google sheet. Im trying to make it dynamic so I added a drop down box. When I search a range for which video has the most shares I want it to also return the name of that video. and I want to be the video names that appear to change depending on what's in the drop box and the max amount of that stat being shown. Is this possible if it is do you have video that would explain how to do this? I tried using the filter formula but im not sure how to make the results change based off of another cell

Trying to set this up but for some reason the email is skipping the inbox all together and is opening on its own without those two specific settings checked off. How do I get this to work as simply as you've shown?

how to filter based on email? so lets say label INVOICE, mail from Andy, Anita, Cindy.. So everytime, there is mail from Anita or Cindy to Andy, the maill will go to label INVOICE.. But everytime there is mail from Anita or Cindy, but Andy is not included in CC, it will go to label inbox.
