I was somewhat surprised to read in the manual of my 7 seat SEAT Alhambra 184ps DSG that it has launch control. Tried it once, impressive! Not found a use for it as such but it has a good turn of speed when I need it. Probably surprised a few here and there. I have done 120mph in it (on a German Autobahn), two miles a minute!

I'm about to buy this other one with 80 000km on it, what advice would you give me on the service and maintenance and which issues should I expect

Only really the need for good service history. Preferably a specialist. Check when the Aux drive belt kit (with tensioner) was last changed. Should be 6 years or 37k miles. Would want good quality oil changes, again preferably every 12 months or 10k miles as they can be driven hard. Last thing is, in the UK, the fuel flap says to use ‘98 RON’ or above. We have unleaded fuel typically from 95-99 so I always used the higher 99.

How reliable has this car been..amy gearbox problems?

Not had any problems. Owned another one in 2016 and that did have a gearbox computer fail. See many with 80k+ miles on. If I own it at 10 years old I would have the gearbox oil changed. The gearbox itself is made by Getrag so are usually very strong.
