Just a reminder: Hyram is only one person with one skin type. Just because he says this is the "best" cleanser, serum, retinol etc he's used does NOT mean it will be the best one you use! Don't get discouraged if something you buy isn't mind blowing. Also remember that the best thing you can do for the environment is to not buy excess product you don't need. If you buy something just for the environmental impact, is it far better to donate to these organizations directly. Only buy something if you need it, can afford it and will use it (without sacrificing another product you own).

Its more pricey because of all these factors. I have not purchased yet because im waiting to finish my products at home😌💚 but it will soon finish and ill buy lol! I love Hyram, but because he has nitpicked every single product he has reviewed and made thousands of claims, statements, and comments about skincare products and their imperfections (which is totally okay) he is now finding it difficult to "practice what he preached" in his own skincare line because anything he does that may be industry standard or something necessary will be caught out by fans if it does not align with his reviews in the past.

@@annem6368 basically Hyram has analysed so many products and made so many critiques that it might be hard to create a skincare line that adheres to each and every one of his own criticisms. For example, let’s say Hyram said in the past that “ethanol” is a bad ingredient. If he formulates his products with ethanol, fans will notice that this is contradictory. Since he has made thousands of such critiques it will be difficult to ensure that he adheres to them for all of his products.

Some of your products (the cleanser, the retinol and the SA serum) have failed your own phenoxyethanol trick you gave in your “how to read ingredient lists” video. Has your mind changed? Were you wrong before? I’m honestly confused and worried about how effective they will actually be.
@preronapalit5734
@preronapalit5734 2 жыл бұрын
In that video he mentions that ingredients mentioned below phenoxyethanol are usually less than 1% and as a result aren't effective. But in case of retinol, 1% retinol is harsh for the skin. Ideally a retinol product should have 0.3 to 0.5% of retinol so as to be effective without leading to skin damage. So, I guess previously he was wrong about the retinol and about the cleanser and SA serum, I am not well aware of the nitty gritty.
@xosummerdaysxo

Hyram, I am confused too. That's a really good point. I forgot about that trick you taught us. In the cleanser, the green tea and centella each are less than 1% because they are after phenoxyethanol in the ingredient deck. 😞 In that video you said, "If you find a product that is advertising that it has an incredible natural extract like aloe vera or squalane or snail mucin, but you find that it is listed below phenoxyethanol, that product is probably bull sh*t." The ingredients you're promoting in the cleanser are below phenoxyethanol. I've been a long-time supporter, but I am starting to get worried. 🥺 I was so excited for you to release your own products, but now I'm not so sure.

@@lizethrubio7579 No. It does not make sense! These products are very dilute. Why would you use less of a 0.5% salicylic serum than you would of an industry standard 2% salicylic serum? Why would you use less of a basic lightweight moisturizer than you would of any other moisturizer? His retinol is the weakest I have seen on the market at 0.2%. Why would you need lees of Hyram's products than of ant other similar products on the market? He said that as means of diffusing the reaction to his high costs relative to product size. If the products were more concentrated than similar products on the market, he could make these claims legitimately.

@@imsheepy9839 His *ambitiion* (not promise) is to donate 10% of sales in 2021 only. If he donates the maximum, that is only $2-3 of the product cost. This does not account for how much more he is charging for products that ARE Inkey List products. He also uses the donation as a tax deduction. Thus we pay for the donation with our consumer $ and Hyram is out nothing because he gets the corporate tax break.

There is literally nothing in these formulations! Everybody and their mother has retinol serums, rainbow algae has not been proven to do much of anything, the centella and green tea are so far down on the ingredient list that I'm not even sure their in the cleanser, there's no actual rice brand in that serum and mandelic acid is soooo gentle it would do nothing for me, 0.5% salicylic acid doesnt do much for acne, etc. Yes these are gentle products, but you could probably use these for a year and you're still not going to see much difference in your skin.

It’s funny we have people commenting ‘why don’t you sell larger products’ and also ‘I wish it was more affordable’ 🤔 the bigger the more it costs, I think what he did was a happy medium especially for how little he stated you need to use every time. Especially if you use it the way he recommended. I agree bigger sizes would be nice. But for the initial launch I think it makes sense to do smaller sizes. So people can test the products without a big monetary commitment. Not doubting the product, but some people just don’t like certain products. That could happen. I’m sure more sizes will be available as time goes on. The brand, just launched… let them get a consistent buyer base who want big products and they can fund more sizes. Also changing the size could change the recyclability of the container. Possibly not, but it’s a factor to be considered.

His products are regular sized products, the same as every other brands. You don't even need more than 5 drops of serum because of it's concentration. Even 30ml of bottle can last more than 1 month. Thank you so much for this detailed video. I am a very simple skin care basic kind of person so your line is a blessing to me. It seems simple and easy for me to follow especially because my skin can't take too much layering of products. I swear i don't know how people are able to layer on so much products on their face without breaking out or getting any of the formula breaking with the other products during layering. I couldn't find anything that layers nicely on top of each other and with my oily plus super sensitive skin, it's difficult to find lightweight products that are sensitive enough for my skin to be layered. I'm so excited to get all the 5 products from you, I just ordered few days ago and i'm still waiting for it's arrival. I'm glad it's available in my country's Sephora. I can't wait to use it following your instructions. I'm sure it's not going to be perfect (maybe i need to add on other moisturizer like cerave) but i'm confident that it will improve my skin. Even in my current routine, i don't use serums or exfoliants everyday. I just use cleansers, moisturizer and sunscreen. I only use vitamin c and salicylic acid once every 3 nights. My skin can't tolerate too much exfoliation (ufo oil from sunday riley) and vitamin c (from inkey list high %). I noticed my skin will itch or tiny bumps starts appearing when i over exfoliate. So even following your routine might break me out but i will figure out the order of the usage. At least you give me an idea on how to use it properly. Thanks a lot Hyram. 😊

Not to be a complete h8ter but ive issues with some pdts. I hope u can clear teh misconceptions: 1) For the cleanser the website states 3% centella, yet the centella extracts is behind the preservative phenoxyenthanol, which the safe standard is at 1%. Can u explain this incongruency? Also since the green tea extract is listed after phenoxyethanol does it mean its lesser than 1% and r u sure its effects will be shown in such low concentration? 2) The salicylic acid serum is at 0.5% and ive read many derm articles that such percentage literally does nothing for exfoliation. It only reduces redness since salicylic acid is an anti-inflammatory at low concentration. Im srry but i find it very misleading for an ineffective product, maybe you shld make it 1% at least. Also, the fact that theres virtually no independent conclusive researches on succinic acid so ig it wouldnt be unreasonable for me to discount its role in the pdt. 3) The retinol and rainbow algae product. This was the most disappointing. Ig i could understand the thought process behind 0.2% encapsulated retinol even tho i find it too little a concentration. But what disappointed me was the fact that you used the rainbow algae as one of the star ingredients when its literally the 2nd last in the ingredients list?😭 Isnt it a shady way of marketing ur pdt cos at such low concentration im very skeptival it does anything. 4) Citric acid. It seems to be present in a couple of pdts and i may be misinformed but is it not a form of fragrance? Why include potentially sensitizing ingredients? I rlly hope u can clear this issue up to reinforce the transparency of selfless P.S.: im also very curious abt how green is his brand actlly. Maybe im just a cynic but im always wary of brands latching onto the ecofriendly status.

Just finished watching the video and just got the whole line up! Perfect timing cause I was running out of the products I'm currently using, should come the day before the official launch. So excited and so proud of you Hyram! 🥰 Also, we can't wait for the sunscreen! Hopefully it'll be approved by HealthCanada too cause we don't always get every product here

I just got the whole set and now see that, except for the cleanser, they're all freakin TINY AF. LMAO!!! No wonder you kept reiterating that we use only 2 or 3 drops, as if they're all highly concentrated when they're actually not, like for example the 0.5% salicylic acid that's only 1/4 of the well-known optimal strength (will give the maximum benefit with the least adverse effects). I'll give these the benefit of the doubt as there might be "something" about the formulas and the unique combinations. For now.

I just purchased the complete set and I am SO excited for it! I love skincare but it can be super overwhelming. So the simplicity and the work that went into this set sold me! I also love how the symbols clarify which product should be used at which time of day and the eco friendliness associated. Thank you Hyram! Much love to you and your channel! 💕

Hi Hyram! Congrats on the launch! One thing that I want to mention is that I have been wanting to try your products since I first found out about them; however, I am a college student and spending over $100 on skincare products isn't in the budget right now. Would you ever consider having a discount code for those who can show proof of going to a university? Thanks!

I’m so happy for you and I appreciate all the thought and time you put into this brand! I understand why it’s a higher price point since it’s environmentally friendly and contributing to charities. Unfortunately I am a college kid and can’t afford it right now but I will definitely be a regular customer in the future!

if he wanted to be environmentally friendly he wouldn’t have come out with a skincare line at all. just another thing we all need is a damn skincare line especially when it isn’t even innovative or new at all. its literally similar if not the same as so many things appear on the market. And from what i hear the quality isn’t worth it.

Hey Hyram, I just confess that I haven't done a skincare routine in eight months due to chronic pain and depression. (I have pretty resilient skin and good genes though so my skin is ok) But seeing now that you have your own line and all the reviews by other reputable KZfaqrs, I am jumping back into a real routine. I mean, I need to finish some stuff beforeI can purchase your products. Hopefully by then you'll also have a sunscreen! So proud of you, thanks for trying to make the world a better place and not just our skin. 💗💗💗
