Perplexity is an AI-powered chatbot created to be an alternative search engine.
Perplexity refers to itself as "an answer engine that delivers accurate answers to complex questions.
You can access it for free on the web here: www.perplexity.ai/
If you ever used ChatGPT or Google Gemini, this is going to look very familiar to you.
To use Perplexity, you can start by typing in a text prompt or choosing from suggested searches.
Perplexity also has a focus mode. So depending on what you are using it for, you can choose a different focus area such as Academic, writing, KZfaq, and more.
You can also attach images, PDFs, and text documents. This is limited to the free account.
There is also a pro search. This is a more powerful search tool that gives you access to a better set of data. This is also limited to the free account.
What is Pro Search?
Pro Search is your conversational search guide. Instead of quick, generic results, Pro Search engages with you, fine-tuning its answers based on your needs.
Once you run a search or prompt through Perplexity, you’ll get an answer, derived from multiple sources. It will also provide easy-to-follow citation links.

Hi there, thanks for your video! I've installed the extension which should turn Perplexity into my default search engine, but nothing is happening :-( Is this because I use a Chromebook instead of a regular laptop with Chrome? Also: I'm looking for examples to use Collections as a Custom GPT. Could you make a video about that topic? Thanks in advance :)

I think because they all provide a similar value. But it is odd. Netflix, Hulu, hbo, and Disney are all different prices

Frankly, I was expecting a lot more from this tutorial. The explanation felt rushed and lacked depth, making it hard for beginners to truly grasp the potential of Perplexity AI. It's disappointing to see such a superficial overview from a channel with such a large subscriber base. I hope future videos will dive deeper into the functionalities and provide more practical examples.

To be honest: I don't have any expectations, but I'm happy that I'm being offered content that doesn't cost me anything, that gives me insights and saves my own research work - even if it's only a little. By the way, I'm free to look for other sources when I see that only 12:43 minutes are spent on such a big topic 😉.
