Thank you Jeff. I have an ancient Bernina 1030 which I inherited from my mother. I followed your instructions, to the letter with ft 32, and my pin tucks on liberty lawn came out marvellously. Much appreciated

Hi this was a very interesting video for me. I made my wedding dress in 1972 on the Bernina minimatic. The machine was issued with one pin tuck foot and one double needle. I pin tucked the entire bodice and used the grooves in the foot to get the tucks really close The fabric was a lovely mat satin and I don't think I had a bottom thread because the tucks were close. Thank you for taking me back all those years.

I use my pin tuck feet with a single needle and a zigzag stitch to couch cording to the cuff of a pillowcase. I try to match the top thread to the cord color and I often add a layer of lightweight interfacing to the cuff to help stabilize it. I’ve also used over the edge stitches with great results. You just have to be careful that your stitch width doesn’t violate the foot slot opening. If the cord you are couching fits snuggly in the groove of the foot, I find I achieve better results with my pin tuck feet than if I used the number 12 couching foot. It’s neat that these feet have uses beyond their name. That being said, I used 30 and 31 the most. I find 7 and 9 groove feet too small most of the time. I have all 4 feet, but I use 3 groove and 5 groove the most.

Tip for inserting a sewing machine needle: Put your needle in a needle holder and then put the point(s) of the needle into the hole in the switch plate. Turn the wheel to bring the "do-dad" down to the top of the needle. No more guessing how far forward, how far back.

"All my rehearsals were fine." - We understand. Our experiences sewing have lots of moments like these. There are so many things to remember. Something for me to remember, buy Jeff's tweezers.

I could never understand the threader. It never works. Seems to miss the eye all the time. This is a great video!
