How to use Siser EasyWeed Adhesive and Deco Foil on a Napkin

Have you ever seen those fun napkins with monograms or sayings that would be fun for your dinner party or reception? You can make them at home and customize them the exact way you want them!
Here is everything you need to get started:

Napkins of your choice
Silhouette, Cricut, Brother or any other vinyl cutting machine. (you can also cut designs by hand.)
Iron or heat press - expressionsvinyl.com/tools-ac...
Find the design that you would like to use and get it all set up to cut on your machine. Remember that you are cutting heat transfer (EasyWeed Adhesive) and you will need to mirror your image. Once cut, weed out your image and you are ready to go. Place the image where ever you would like it to be and begin pressing. You will press for 5 seconds at 275 degrees. EasyWeed adhesive is a hot or cold peel. Peel back the carrier sheet and you are ready for the Deco Foil.
Deco Foil has a color foil side and then a silver back side. You will want to place it on your image with the color side up. Press it for 10 seconds at 275 degrees as well. This is a cold peel so you will want to make sure you do not peel it back until it has cooled down.

So I have the first cricut that came out and I was wondering if there was a way to use that one for htv but with words. I don't know of an option to mirror it cuz it didn't can't plug into a computer. Please help I don't want to buy a new machine just so I can make some t-shirts

Hi Stephanie, there should be an option on your machine to Flip your image. This will allow you to then spell in what you are wanting to type out. You do need to spell it backwards so that it will cut in the correct order. Try it out a few times on just a piece of paper to get the hang of it. Hopefully this helps. Hello!! Can i put the napkin with the Easyweed in the thermal laminator and after with the foil?

Hi, that is not some thing that we have tested. It would all depend on how your laminator receives documents, etc. You'd want to make sure that it if feeds through it doesn't get caught in the machine. That would be another great way to do it, if it works in the machine. Some require a protective cover to run through and that may help it from being caught. what is the machine you're using to heat the napkin with? a Cricut ______(?)

Not sure about 3 years ago but today 2022 you can find a number of brands both name brand and more generic both in these manual non press irons. They also come in a variety of sizes. I decided to start with a small one because I like to do tiny things and my tiny one came with temperature display so when a product suggests best temperature I can oblige. Do google searching and amazon searches to locate best prices but also the numerous machines out there. And by the way if you have a fairly reliable shirt iron at home making sure it has no water in it for steam or accidental steam go ahead and use it until you get the hang of not moving the iron around like an iron but press and hold them move iron plate to another section of design and hold for the seconds it's suggested by the maker of the vinyl or glue adhesives etc. Do not iron your glue without the vinyl or the foil and they make teflon sheets for ironing over to keep your iron from getting gummed up too. Anyway find small pieces to buy first to see how it works for you and you don't always for tiny projects like this need expenisve crafting tools with brandnames attached. On the other hand sometimes the generics are not as well made but many are. Oh and by the way a great tip is to iron to warm up and remove any ambient moisture out of the fabric first before applying your design. And it also smooths out any wrinkles too. Then lay down your cut out adhesive then the foil or vinyl correct side up unless you use a transfer sheet and you cut the cover media and the adhesive out at same time. Each adhesive and cover media has different directions. So always read those before assuming they are all the same. For a simple small item such as shown here I recommend a nice home regular size iron and set it medium to low depending on your iron you may want to error on side of caution and keep it low until you see how hot it gets and how well it sets the adhesive and vinyls.
