Great insight. I would just add that if the bar beats up your hands, maybe you can use a less agressive barbell (like the ATX pl bar instead of the Eleiko comp bar / OPH). Mike T also mentiones specificity with the grip and mix grip vs double over strapped can make the pull itself + the start different than in competition

Man the ATX golden bar just has so little grip, I miss Eleiko when I train at home lol. Don't know about the ATX comp bar though

@@VCCrescit ATX comp bar is my fav for training deadlifts. Very stiff (215kpsi) and i can do all my top sets and back-off work with only chalk

My experience with the straps was a bit chaotic, I had been doing 2 high rep blocks and used them all the time. When I came back I noticed a lack of strength in the grip and what was more annoying was that when doing mixed, as it totally changed the technique and the stincking point, right now I use everything in mixed except some sets that I put straps, but I'm thinking about whether It would be smart to use straps with mixed position. One thing to note, lifters who use hook grip do not usually have this problem, once they know how to use that grip well, they have much less cons than those who use mixed.

I lift less with straps, feels like ROM increases and im unable to create the same tension with them.

I'm having issue with tendonitis in my forearm and was wondering if straps would take the pressure off of my forearms so my issues would have time to heal and recover. My arm only hurts when I apply grip strength not the lifting per se. Am I thinking about thus correctly?
