Subtext is an awesome opportunity to create meaning by connecting to the readers heart and mind beyond your physical words.

Great video. Subtext is one of the reasons I love the old episodes of Columbo so much. Each show starts out showing how the murder happens, so it's not really a murder mystery show in the typical fashion; the show is about watching Columbo figure out the clues and have discussions with the murderer with subtext, letting the murderer subtly know he is onto them without being obvious about it. Some of the murderers even try to be coy about it, letting him know they know he knows, but saying that he'll never be able to prove it or that there is no evidence, etc. No matter how many times it happens, I still laugh when one of them tells Columbo to get to the point or complains about how long it takes him to end one of his visits only to have him, while walking away, say, "Oh, one more thing..."

Really like what you wrote from both POV. Well done. Subtext, is a tricky thing to add in prose.

This was such a good scene, I miss when the writing for GoT was so subtle. I adored the early seasons of the show for exactly scenes like this.
