This model is also known as the Streetwize Accessories Portawash Plus.
In this video I demonstrate how to use the Good Ideas portable twin tub washing machine from filling, washing, rinsing and finally spinning the wash load.
The first part of the demonstration shows how to fill the wash tub with water, adding the detergent and then agitating the detergent into the water before adding the clothes.
The machine is designed to wash 3.5kg of laundry and spin dry 2kg of washing. In practice I found that 3.5kg is too much laundry for an effective wash, so I wash about half that amount in this demo. After turning the wash agitator on, I add some clothes and then select the wash time and wash action. I also explain what each of the controls on the top of the washing machine does.
When the washing part of the demo is completed, I transfer half the load into the spinner for the first spin to remove the soapy water. After the first spin, I show how you rinse the laundry and give advice on when to add fabric softener if desired.
The last part of the video shows the final spin, how to drain the wash tub when you've finished and I give some advice of how to clean the machine prior to putting it away.
If you want to see a longer demonstration of this compact twin tub, click on the link below.

A tip from my mom who used to use one of these when we lived in France for a couple of years. If you intend to reuse water, wash least soiled and lighter color clothes first, then more soiled and darker but take care not to use powder detergent and try to rinse well because powder is more likely to leave residue and it’ll be more noticeable on darker clothes.

@libertyschultz9807
@libertyschultz9807 4 жыл бұрын
@@igvc1876 I reuse the water for mine, the hose doesnt fit my sink and I have to fill up a gallon bottle at a time to use my washer, or use the shower hose if I'm using it at home as I have mine in my shower for drainage and filling since its easier that way and i just take out when I take a shower so it doesnt get ruined. Also, i reuse the water cause it saves money. I only reuse it if i know the clothes arent that soiled. Plus, I would rather save water as much as I can instead of wasting it.

I live in an apartment and we have one laundry room and everybody washes there and people put bleach and bunch of stuff in it. So I got a manual small washing machine to wash my newborns clothes and towels with a gentle detergent. The machine I bought from Amazon didn't came with instructions so thank you for this video.

This reminds me of the old-fashioned 'twin-tub' washers of the 60's-70's; amazing washers, and so economical. I think this little 'portable' washer would be great for small homes and for older people who live alone and don't require a 'family size' washer - I bet they are much more economical than the normal 'washer/dryer' combo!

My back up washer is a twin tub. I love the fact that you can soak, wash, and manage the load anyway you want. Mine is a Panda. It is a bit more work but they do have apartment size automatics. This is not a lot of work compared to going to the laundry mat. I general spin and then rinse in the big tub, but as you say it can be done on the spin side.

What a terrific demo! You are a pro at this. Great visuals, great audio, straight to the point, well illustrated, good pointers and feedback. Most importantly, no pesky music, what joy. It helped so much to HEAR the machine and see how it worked inside the tub. Though the motor sounds weak, the machine looks like it does the job well. I wanted one of these for my RV. This is a compact size that will fit. I am pleasantly surprised it can do 1.5 kg per load, nice! I think if I get a mini dryer as well, I am all set.

The feature was valued by people whos previous system was a wringer washer where cloths were washed a load at a time and wrung into the rinse tub until the wash water was judged to be spent. Those people couldn't bare the idea of using wash water only once. Lol. Things have changed.

Yes, so far this was the best video, however no one has mentioned cleaning the filter since the instructions say to clean after every wash.

Brilliant little machine. My automatic died after about 10 years so replaced it with this twintub. It was going to be temporary at first but I like it better than an automatic so continue to use it as my main machine. It's quicker, and for one person more than adequate. I modified mine though. Fitted a better hose, replaced the filler hose with a stronger one,and also got a better spin dryer mat. Works like a dream now.

Most comprehensive review I’ve ever seen! I did own the previous model which wasn’t as fancy but it did put up with a lot of washing before it gave up the ghost so I am considering the newer model. Your review has helped, thank you!

I have a different brand of this type of machine and I like it a lot. I still have to wash queen sheets at the laundromat because I don't have a place to hang them. I hang the clothes on rubber hangers to dry. In the desert climate they dry fast.

I have the same machine and I use it a little differently. I place mine in the shower and fill it with shower head it's faster and I fill it till full. I put soap and 7 shirts start washing and I use the whole 15 minutes. The water gets really dirty so I empty it and full it again with fresh water and rinse another 15 minutes, and when all the soap is out I then spin dry my clothes. Well it works for me

I just purchased mine and i do it the same way. I see on many videos that some of the clothes are washed once and the put in the spinner and i know the clothes are still holding dirty water and soap. I wash 15, do it again with softner and do it again with plain water , then spin.
