How to use the Lakeland Cake Leveller

Hi everyone!! In this short video I demonstrate the ease of using the Lakeland cake leveller.
This is a really handy piece of equipment to have in the kitchen if you struggle to achieve straight even layers with your cakes and you are not confident with using just a knife.

EXCELLENT demonstration and explanation. Simple, clear, straight forward. That's what I look for in a demo. Thanx sooooo much for this. I needed a leveler but didnt know how to use one....now I do. KZfaq UNIVERSITY does it again. :-)

How big was the cake pan? Or how deep was it?

It was a 6" cake pan. 4" deep

How to shorten the length?

As far as I'm aware, you cannot shorten the length of the cutter as you need to be able to use it on different size cakes. You can only adjust the height. Hope this helps.

How can I tighten my cake cutter because it’s loosened?

Is it the same as the Lakeland one I show in this demo? I'd say make sure you have the notches aligned properly on both sides. If it still feels loose, try holding the leveler at both ends and gently pulling outwards a little to tighten the wire. Hope this helps. If all else fails, I'd suggest returning it to the store you purchased it from.

Take the feet off and wire, then stretch the cutter and replace wire and feet
