I remember sitting in a Numerical Analysis lecture in Cardiff University in 1993, frantically doing this by typing in the figures in a calculator to finish off an assignment that needed to be in that day. I didn't know about the Ans button method! I saw this 30 years too late 🤣. Doh!

On the c3 coursework I'm currently doing, I've seen an example such as x^3-3x-1 which presents 3 roots. The examples I have only give me one root, is there another equation with more than 1 root that can work with is? If so can I get a few examples

@ExamSolutions, is there a reason why you specifically chose 0.5 (i.e. a value between the roots) to perform the second set of iterations? I tried this using 5 and it still converged. I just wanted to understand why you specifically used a starting value that is between the roots. Thank you

hi if there is some equation whose 1st root is not known to us, in that case what will be the 1st assumed root for that equation? or is there any other new method needed? please do tell me if new method is needed then do one video on that plz thanks
