On the outdoor unit are we putting our meter leads on the incoming volts of the contactor or the outgoing? Or does it even matter? Thank you you folks are amazing

It doesn’t matter.

I currently have the UEI DL489. I am getting ready to graduate school and I think I am going to need a meter that does power factor, phase rotation, Hz, SEER, etc. I have narrowed it down to 3 meters..... the Supco Redfish IDVM, Fieldpiece sc680 or sc480, and the Amprobe ACD-51NAV. Which of these meters is the best in your opinion?? If you were a new tech starting out of school which would you use? Or, is there another you would recommend?

Would the procedure be different with an ECM blower motor?

With the job link can I use my sc660 meter?

What would be the best way to capture blower motor electrical readings in the field? If we take the blower door off won’t it alter our readings versus having the door on?

Grab power and current at the service switch. For fan draw they want the amps in total to run the fan including the transformer.

Just started today using your app and fieldpiece probes. Is the supco the only meter that works with MQ? Fluke has Bluetooth amp meters? Are they proprietary Bluetooth configuration?
@measureQuick5 жыл бұрын
Yes, Fluke does not appear to want to play with others.

Shocking. Fluke? No? Bought the redfish idv550. Putting it through its paces on tune ups this week. And getting familiar with it, as well. Didn’t realize how big the display/text is on screen. Nice.

FYI Gents....Bought this meter 2 years ago and loved it right up until the clamp broke 2 months ago... Called Redfish for service support and it turns out that outside of the 1 year warranty there is absolutely no service support for this tool..

I have the 550 redfish can't get to read flame sensor can you please help me
@measureQuick4 жыл бұрын
The iDVM550 does not read flame current. That requires a microamp reading. That feature is in the IDVM 510. We could not incorporate every reading into one meter.

measureQuick why not? This is not the 50s

If only it read micro amps

*Redfish iDVM550 aka Ames CM1000A $99 at harbour freight. Supco has no shame.*

I also have the CM1000a, but it does not operate the same. No BT, and not as fast.

The meter housing is used by several manufacturers, the electronics and features are not the same. Supco is a power quality meter with Bluetooth and a very high end CT for low amp draw measurements. The tooling required to build out a meter is extremely expensive so many of them are contract manufactured and have a similar appearance.
