Whitening strips are a great affordable (and safe) option for at home teeth whitening. Having said that using them can sometimes be tricky. Here are some tips for you to get the best results from your strips.

I'm so happy that I brushed my teeth with tooth paste that contains extra floride, and had my mouth super wet prior to putting on the strips.

@@jayreyli yes they should stay whitened for about 6 months. As for using the strips, you would use them until they're gone unless you achieve results first. So once your teeth are white enough, you can stop using the strips.

This was super helpful. First of all I didn't know I had to dry my teeth. My strips slid all over the place. Lesson learnt. Good to know why we shouldn't brush beforehand with fluoride. Thanks

I did this completely wrong haha. I watched this video after putting on my first strip. I brushed my teeth before putting them on, put the short one up top, and my mouth is still pretty wet with saliva. Good to know for my next attempt tho

Use either the floss holder plastic or clean fingernail to push firmly on the installed strips in to the in between of your teeth...very important.

Yes! Use multiple strips to cover your smile line. Alternatives you can think about getting whitening trays. opalescence whitening trays are great over the counter options.

I give my thanks for this informative video, a lot of users on KZfaq do not mention when to brush when you are about to use your whitening strips. I heard some people had their gums burn when their strips came in contact, what can be used to protect your gums when using the strips?

My gums are burning bad as fu** right now!! It’s probably b/c I brushed my teeth before I put the strips on! My fiancé teeth are white as hell so I just asked her what she uses and how. Next use I’m definitely not brushing my teeth before my next use of the these strips. They really work though for sure!!!

The time depends on the type of the strips you have - look at the box and it'll tell you how long to keep them on. And stick to once a day (at night works)

I hope this doesn't sound too stupid, but what should the saliva situation within these 30 mins be? I got my first strips from target and it kinda smells like glue-ish. I have been swallowing my saliva, but I have some that I felt was in contact with the strip, so I spit it out. Should swallowing ING saliva during this time be safe? Lol it sounds like a silly question.

Not a silly question at all! It's safe to swallow your spit during that 30 minutes. However, it's also completely ok to spit it out, I know for some people can't stand the taste. Try to breath through your mouth to help dry your mouth a little when you have the strips on.

Definitely use it after using the stripes :) it helps with the sensitivity. Just brush without toothpaste before putting the strips on
