I am hooked on your channel right now. Always been intrigued by vinyl wrapping cars, etc. Finally gonna try my hand at some simple wraps on my '23 Tesla Model 3. Mirrors are gonna be attempted first. Just teied to do this in one piece, my first wrap ever lol. Wasnt too bad, but ended up overstretching the inner side and having wrinkles, now looking at this tutorial it kinda makes sense why Chris did it in two pieces.

I just say, you start now explaining everything correctly, with kind of teacher manors which I like.. More of this kind would've appreciate. Much better in your new place! I starting my own wrap business,, building wrap bay and adding it to signs and print services.. Have you tested new 3m 2080? After I got my car, I decided to wrap my own car. Searched on the internet and found you. Watched every single of your videos for two weeks and learned a lot from you. Would love to see you attempt a mirror on a b8 or newer audi. The cap goes all the way around to the inside past the glass. I attempted it in 3 pieces, but it wasn't perfect.

Hey man, I recently started wrapping because of your channel and i am very grateful . Wanted to ask how do we decide will we do 1 piece or 2 piece mirror? As i understood you can do almost any mirror in 1 piece. I saw something similar like this that u did before in 1 piece, correct me if i am wrong. Thx

This mirror can be done in one piece but why? one piece does not always mean better. If you can hide the seam and make it look good then do 2 piece its easier last longer and its faster. Good job Ck.

Christian, fantastic mirror wrap. I always enjoy when you use knifeless tape more than once on anything you wrap. A couple of questions, please. Is there a brand of heat gun that you try to stick with ? On average how long does a heat gun last you ? Lastly, if a vinyl supplier gives you a heat gun, do they last any longer than a gun bought at say Home Depot ? Thanks ! My Best, Scott

Hi Scott, I use inexpensive heat guns since I tend to drop mine all the time. I prefer something with a finger trigger and nothing too fancy. My heat guns last anywhere from 3-6 months on average

I really miss seeing how you’d go about wrapping a mirror that also needs covering on the inside of the mirror and on the mirror base. Like say a Mercedes CLS350 with mirrors and base painted in and out the same color as the car. Can it be done in one piece? Not wrapping the inside of the mirror on such a car would look silly unless it has a specific color like black or something that matches nicely with the wrap

Hey Ck Wraps I recently had my car wrapped in Avery Gloss Red and it is daily driven to work and back everyday but the problem is the only carpark is in full Sun all day long (Aussie heat btw) if I put a car cover on will the wrap still get affected by the weather.Thanks

Hey, car covers can sometimes cause issues of trapping moisture which in turn can lead to delamination of the film. If you use one just keep an eye on it

Wrapped a model x the other day for a chrome delete. The area where the mirrors fold was a nightmare. How do you tackle this area?

...the space between the wing mirror and that arm witch is holding it is very tight, it's catching the vinyl every single time when the wing mirror is folding in and out. I'll sugested to the customer to have that arm powder coated or leave that section chrome like it is, not ideal... Before wrapping you can see some marks on top of that arm, even on a brand new Tesla :(

@@mariusdivisevici8181 thats what we did. Left the tip of the end cap and the top where the mirror rotates Chrome and use knifeless tape to cut around it

I did mine with butt joints and I took them off to wrap around the edges more.

Butt joints tend to separate over time as most films are prone to shrinking. Even the slightest bit of shrinkage will expose the original color of the panel being wrapped

CK Wraps thanks I didn’t know that. I’m not a wrapper. It’s Tesla pearl white under 3m ghost flip pearl. So if it separates hopefully it won’t stand out.

Realistically you could have done that mirror all in one piece, yes it would have taken longer but it has one curve which is not too deep. Look at Yanni, his team done a mirror on a Ferrari which was difficult all in one piece. Other then that, good job as usual wish I was as skilled as you, I would have my own shop :(
