NO I used to do that. I like to have an Alexa and a reminder that I take too long to get ready and I need food or something that brings logic to my sleepy brain. When I am tired NOTHING else matters ex my life.. maybe Edit: when you hit snooze too much too early you can’t get restful sleep in between and you can easily think you have another snooze when you don’t or you hit stop thinking you’ll get up and you don’t. It’s best to just say you have to sit on the toilet and hope the lights wake you up

Without watching (I promise), I suggest: - Having a valid reason to wake up - Going to bed and falling asleep early and without screen light - Leave an alarm far from hands’ reach - Having a plan for the morning - Eating well is a must! - Being consistent. It takes about a week or two to get used to it. That’s what worked for me and I’ve been lifting weights at 6am for quite some time now. I prefer working out in the morning because the gyms are way too crowded in the evening. Good luck!

I agree with almost all of that. I've recently been getting into a morning routine and these things, except "Eating well" have been a part of its success. I personally don't have breakfast, haven't since college, and I've not been the worse for wear for it. I know a lot of people who practice intermittent fasting w/ great success. Good point for some though, and like I said, solid list!

honestly, the main points are your first and last point, have a reason, and consistency. I joined a 20 week martial arts program that had me getting up at 5am to get to the place by 6am, also if we were late or absent for too many days we wouldnt be allowed to compete, so that gave us a reason to wake up. also after about 2 weeks of making sure i only had 1 alarm, i found that when i woke to my alarm, it would be very quick for me to wake up without any groggy feelings. Once i finished the program and didnt have a reason to wake up anymore, i now feel the groggy effects of under or oversleeping

It's basically a matter of priorities. IF your evenings are actually exiting (socially e.g.), personally I wouldn't recommend to skip them. Yet, if we just hang around (and most of us do), then it boils down to rhythm or codependency, when you're up early, you won't have a problem with going to bed "early".

@@Rionaran ok good point but i believe waking up early is just as hard because you're body is so tired and badly wants to sleep a few more hours, even though you have to get up for work/school. It feels like you're body has not been fully charged and because of that you are not ready to get up. I consider both waking up and going to sleep early a very hard thing to do.

Cats tend to sleep at like 10pm, then wake up at 03 am and stay awake and hunt until 10am. Then sleep until 3 pm. Means maybe a cat wakes one up in the morning (at 5am because she wants food), but cats sleep more during the day, time in which we work.^^

I make my mornings a mini-weekend: I turn on some good jazz, get up and make breakfast with tea with the windows open, and do some pleasure reading before work. As for "movement", I found that tidying up my apartment while breakfast cooks is the best because I'm too groggy to do anything mentally taxing anyways, and it's really nice to come back to a clean home in the afternoon after work.

One simple reason you should prefer a morning routine over an evening routine is the ‘power’ you have at each of those times. The morning time is your time, there are typically very few things that can surprise or distract you. In the evening, your mood and energy level will completely depend on how your day went. This is particularly true for a 9-5 job, since a bad or busy day at the office can easily affect your evening plans. I think it makes sense to do the most important stuff in the morning, and get it out of the way. Now you can breathe easy and be confident that the most important stuff is out of the way regardless of how your day goes.

Usually, though, ships have holes, and you can't exactly tell a ship to stop taking in water when it has one. So you can't tell people not to let their outside world affect them. They could be hungry, tired, frazzled, or even disenchanted at life. These are their "holes".

Useful movement is the a really powerful addition to my day. Found this out on my study abroad where I walked to school and back every morning and afternoon for 30 mins each. It transformed my mood and energy throughout the day, made me sleep way earlier as I was tired and helped me stay active consistently.

getting up early for me depends on how i slept the night before and that depends on whether i walked for at least 15 minutes or not, if not it would take me hours to sleep (i always have sleeping problems) but i hope i’ll find a way to be motivated to wake up early. Thank u for the video!🌺❤️

The sunlight one helps me a lot, I always sleep with my curtains open and so I naturally wake up with the sunrise which in the summer is often 5:00-5:30. In winter I wake up much later

Love these points! What immediately helps me wake up fast are 2 out of 3 of yours and a third that’s different: water, light and a super HOT shower. I can’t get any early morning movement done unless I’ve had these 3 first! 💪

I found your information both helpful and informative. I'm up very early , most mornings before 5am. I work from home. I am an upholstered. Because I work from home I find home and work compete for my time, energy and focus. So my morning routine helps me get more done in the upholstery room. What helps get me out of bed is knowing that the more time I have to work before 9am is more time without interruptions. No one is going to call or stop by. Any errands I need to make have to wait until the stores open up. So I put on the Bluetooth headphones and listen to something upbeat or motivational ( my fun thing in the morning routine) and get to work. Oh and quick note the headphones idea was one I got from you- THANK YOU for that it has been a game changer as well. Keep the great videos coming and thank you again

FINALLY! Somebody who thinks like me! Thank you, Thomas! I actually used to be a lot more productive in high school because I used to think exactly the same, even before I came across your channel. However, due to people forcing their views on me and the change of schedule by going to college, I have found that I have lost all my good habits and am struggling to get back to them, it's so pathetic that I am using my past self as a role model because my current self can't get much done anymore. I am slowly getting back, but it is a struggle.

My biggest struggle is waking up during the winter, when the sun rises at eight or nine a.m. during the colder months. No sunlight until that time really messes up my inner clock.
@amandamwardrop
@amandamwardrop 3 жыл бұрын
I have a smart light that has a sunrise mode. It takes 30 min to go from completely dark to maximum daylight. I stuck it in my window sill behind the curtain. It turns on 30 min before my wake up time alarm. It helps trick my brain to think it is daylight. It still confuses me if I notice it's dark outside after waking up xD. Before I had a smart light bulb, i just used a cheap timer and a lamp. For a cheaper version. And since my house is cold in the winter (and my room even more so), I have a timer hooked up to a small heater to turn on about 30 min before wake up... that way it's not so cold that I feel like I must stay. THEN, i must get up and cross my room to scan a barcode to turn off my alarm. (It used to be in my bathroom, but it's currently too loud for the bedroom next to my bath xD)
