It's actually more beneficial to cover your skin, rather than leave it bare, in the summer because the suns rays will warm you up quicker. It's a shame linen isn't a fabric used in Lolita because it's the best fabric for summer.

so true. I got some linen blouse from non-lolita brand, add some laces on my own or add diy cotton/linen frilly removable collar, and wear it under jsk or with skirt. Straight AP poly lining OP is a sure way to die from heatstroke.

i recommend thinking about washability - ill sweat no matter what i wear, so having underlayers that can absorb the sweat and then be easily washed is essential for me

Omg yesterday I was wearing lolita at a con, and even with a hoop skirt and chiffon blouse, I was sweating bullets in the 90-100 or so degree weather. another note was that my tea parties had fairly thin soles, so the heat from the asphalt was seeping through and nearly burning the bottom of my feet. D: I definitely recommend platforms in hotter weather. I live in a hot part of the country so a lot of these tips are second nature to me, but this was a very good and informative video!

I use a parasol as it stops the sun from burning me as well as the heat :) best invention

I live in miami, florida so its itterally always hot lol. I'm still trying to get into the fashion so this is a really great video to keep in mind while I start setting up my first coord :)

I've always dreaded going out in lolita in the summer (here in the southern US, it's just triple digits for weeks at a time) but your tips inspired me to try making some summer coords! Now I dont have to wait til autumn to feel like a cute lil poofball again 😫😫

@@shaharipudding9453 I think she should put a disclaimer mentioning Devil Inpired's reputation among the community, like their ridiculous markups and shipping costs. If I started again from zero, I wouldn't really like paying one arm and a leg for a taobao dress 😐 Like, I get when it's one of the BIG brands that that charge $300 and benefit only from the band name... But not f**ing taobao which is supposed to be cheaper and affordable to begin with lol

They have always been like this. Ever since they first game out people have had issues with them. The only lolita's who actually support them are new lolita's or e lolita's who want a quick buck from the sponsorship.
