How to Whistle Without Fingers

Learn how to whistle without fingers. Use the "Sam" technique not seen in other videos to whistle easily and fast. The 4 step-by-step instructions are listed below:
1 Just say the word “Sam...Sam...Sam” and notice how the tongue forms in your mouth “Sam” and air goes over your tongue “Sam”
2 Lick your lips, pull your lips over your gums and then do it all over again “Sam...Sam...Sam”
3 Now drop the Sam and just do S, “SSSS...SSSS...SSSS” and you can see how it's almost a whistle already and it's just a short hop from here to actually whistling
4 Purse (or close) your lips just a little bit more and then breath out short burst "SSSSSSSSS...SSSSSSSSS...SSSSSSSSSSSS"

This is really incredible. I've been trying for years, and I've gotten to the point where I could get a slight whistle. 1 min and I got my first real 'sharp' whistle.

Being able to make the standard English "S" sound on "Sam" isn't exactly genetic but if this isn't your first language it might not work and thus seem genetic

After a few minutes I was able to produce some sounds resembling a whistle!! I’ll keep practicing until I get it! I’m 60 years old and have never been able to whistle! My childhood friends will be surprised next time I see them!! Thank you!

Istg this guys a genius, not a single "technique," image, detailed descriptive could get me to do this. I had to find out how to do a note just randomly, but it was still somewhat windy, but this, this got me to remember the positioning and the windy noise has left. Thank you!

I have seen a lot of videos on this kind of whistle, I guess that everyone has their own technique, but to me this was the most helpful. It works very well! And it's not easy to explain it in such a simple yet effective way. After a lot of tries now I am getting better after listening at your explaination. Thank You Sir! 👍

For all of you who gave it up after few hours. Don't give up. Give it ten to five minutes every day and you'll get there. First three days I got out nothing but spit. On the day four some little whistle came through. It is a day five today and I can whistle loudly. It takes a couple of tries to realise the positioning of my lips and tongue but I got there. Some people say it takes weeks. It is all about you slowly understanding what works and what not. Believe I thought I'll never do this because my tongue is stiff and I have tooth gaps. This video was a great starting point so just follow Dan's advice and eventually it will come to you. Thank you, Dan!

Really helpful tip to start with the S sound, I tried blowing softly at first anda slight whistle came out After like a minute of turning up the power, its getting sharper and louder, so thanks a lot!

Dang, fantastic vid. I've spent the last week going through tutorials, some saying to get your lips in the "F sound position" along with your tongue in the "T position", make "grandpa lips", teeth on the lower lip, just against the lower lip, etc... None really worked past a "jet engine" sound. Got a light whistle within seconds of this video and now have something to work with to make it better. Cheers mate.

Great advice! I taught myself how to whistle like this, and I can whistle insanely loud. I taught my twin brother how to whistle like this, when we were kids, and I am now teaching my own kids. And your method is quite good! Thank you for sharing

It's like trying to teach someone how to ride a bike. Just keep practicing and it will kick in and you'll get it. Ok seriously this worked amazing. I’ve watch several other videos and they make it way too complicated. As soon as I did the Sam with the mouth closed I was like holy crap it’s already working lol.
