How do you charge the battery, I'm thinking about stealibg power from the stator, bc my bike is 32 years old

Hey Mathew, this really helped me. I dont know why you dont have more views and subscribers. Dont let that stop you from making videos. I love them they are very thorough and realistic please please post more videos.

I don't know if this helps, but they do make a switch that mounts on your handlebars for your headlight. Sold online. Also, they do sell universal key switches you can wire into your kill switch wires. I am working on installing one on my Husky 610.

Also, this bike may be long gone but just in case this helps anyone else I thought I would comment.

I just mounted the exact light bar on my ebike & cars hate it😆 it is bright as fuck I keep it on high beam until cars lower theirs & I can tell factory from aftermarket lights I’m using a 12 volt 8ah drill pack. Ride on homie✊🏽👍👊🏼👍🏾

Bud if you cut the wires to make it shorter it's only going to be three wires four wires when you cut it do it slowly and pay attention to what color is which and reconnect them the same way they were in the beginning nowhere near rocket science and for your back tail light wire it up drill a hole and run it through that

Did you ever install the lighting stator? Or can you wire the battery to the stator for charging? Thanks for posting!
@chumbrega22 жыл бұрын
I’m asking myself the same thing. Any luck on your research?
@terraraptorgaming67812 жыл бұрын
Some bikes don't output enough amperage to power a lighting system. As for the stator replacement, its hit or miss on whether or not a particular bike has the aftermarket support. Take for instance my 2008 Yz250F, the only solution other than this that I have found is to take the WR model's stator and flywheel, and machine the flywheel down to fit. It ends up being a 2 to 3 hundred dollar project.

You have to either upgrade the stator on a regular dirt bike, or you have to get a battery like in the video which you would have to charge with a trickle charger at your house and figure out how long it would last before it runs out of juice

How long does that battery power the light?
@mctudor20104 жыл бұрын
I can usually get one or two rides out of it before I put it back on the trickle charger (battery tender). I'm using it as my daily driver but, considering changing up the battery for a more powerful stator and tapping into that.

I think you have to charge it after you are done riding.
@algebruh_m86526 ай бұрын
What im doing with mines is just charge the battery with a trickle charger at home when done riding. Thats what I plan to do as im not looking to open up my engine to upgrade the stator. But in the future I can upgrade the stator and hook it to the battery with a voltage regulator and keep it charging everytime I ride. But for right now I'll just charge the battery when im doing riding as I dont ride it often

Do you ever get problems with overheating
@mctudor20104 жыл бұрын
Hey Brett, I haven't noticed any overheating but, I think I need to downgrade the light bar to the 6 pack LED setup. I think my current light is draining the battery faster than I'd like. I'm also considering to replace the stator and run the electrical that way. More vids to follow. Thanks for watching.

You literally didn’t even tell us HOW/WHAT you wired your battery to. Your title says how to wire a battery to your dirt bike lol
@algebruh_m86526 ай бұрын
Im assuming hes just using an external trickle charger. You can wire it into your bikes stator but most stock stators only output enough for the spark plug. Better to upgrade the stator, add a voltage regulator and wire your lights directly to it.
