The starter kill switch is one of the most done relay security of all times. It is for that reason, a common point of interest for thieves. This security relay system can be done effectively, however, if a few steps are taken to mask the system. One way is to use the injector power feed to trigger the starter kill relay. The idea it to leave the system disabled until someone turns the ignition key or in our case, a thief disables the ignition cylinder and turn the key.
At this point in time, when the key is turned, the normal sequence of events it that the injectors receive power feed as soon as the key is turned. The power feed then actuates the relay, which is already grounded by a normally On button. In this configuration, the starter will not engage and the engine stays Off. This is cool, except when you take you car to get inspected, you will have to tell them where it is so they can start your car... Needs to be a switch, so you can disable it without having to hold the button... The button is nice so you never forget to re-enable, but it's also a safety issue when you need to restart a stalled car while driving...

OK thanks, here are a few pointers: Make sure the ignition module is providing the Neg pulse. Use a scope to test. I have videos here that show you how to do that. Check coil and module power and grounds. Post back with any questions.

Questions: Pin #30 input from 12V battery and this pin #30 tie with pin #87a? is this right? Pin #85 states: go to Injector pwr? what is this means? is this pin #85 connects to 12V as well? I have a 1997 honda civic and been stolen twice in the last 4 months. I would like to use this circuit to hook up on my honda civic. Could you help me how to wire this circuit tree? thank you

cut starter solenoid wire then connect to # 30 and the side to 87a.then connect # 85 to injector wire + sign and connect 86 to push botton sw.and ground...make sense...when you start you need to press the push botton to start the car.hope it can help u..tnx

Can I use this for a kill switch in my 1995 Honda Accord....does not sound like it. Will you please do a video on how to do a kill switched, so my car won't be easily stolen even if have the key. Please.

HI where the 85 pin would be connected to if the car doesn't have a injector system , I mean carburetor instead....

The starter circuit has a 10g wire which goes from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid. Disconnect that wire at the switch end and connect the wire to one lead of an inline fuse rated for your vehicle's starter solenoid current draw... usually about 50 Amps, then connect the other fuse lead to pin 30 on the relay. Next attach a 10g wire between the ignition switch (where the wire now attached to pin 30 came from) to pin 87a on the relay (if you want a normally on circuit as we do in this case) or to pin 87 (if you want a normally off circuit). That completes the high current side of the relay. For the low current side, connect pin 86 to any relatively low switched current source... such as the switched power lead to the radio (a typical car radio draws between 0.5A and 5.0A). *DO NOT CONNECT IT TO THE MEMORY LEAD FOR THE RADIO!* Next connect pin 85 to a _"normally on"_ momentary button switch rated for the low current circuit you're using. Finally connect the other lead of the button switch to ground. I know that pins 85 and 86 are switched on the diagram above... but the coil inside the relay is directional so pin 85 must be ground. Also... I like to add a second inline fuse between the low current circuit and pin 86, but it is not absolutely necessary.

So does the switch and wiring have to be 40amps?

No but these relays are usually 30 or 40 Amps

@@ADPTraining Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to splice a switch onto a wire running from my starter relay to the fuse (30A) is this a good idea? I spliced in a 5A wire and the fuse blew. Would I need a 30A wire, and would the switch need to be at least 30A too? Is there a way to wire it to a separate relay, which would allow me to connect it to an existing switch in the dashboard (ie one rated for 2-3A?). Any help would be much appreciated!
