FYI to all viewers. Jeff is worth your supporting financially. I've been doing rc for over 30 years. There is nobody that's helped me more than this guy. For some reason nobody wants to share all the little secrets that help you to be successful with RC helis. And it can be very frustrating crashing and restarting. Thank you! I greatly appreciate that. I do y best to help everyone i can and allow everyone to be successful because if we are not sharing information and helping anybody and everybody in the Hobby and spreading the Hobby to grow what good is it? Where is the main reason I started this channel was because as I got in this hobby many years ago everybody kept all the tips and tricks to themselves were not helpful. Thank you for watching!

Very nice setup... Question - how important is the glue on the JST connectors in the FBL? Have you ever seen one come loose on its own?

Thank you! It is very important, there’s multiple different methods of doing it. Some people use double sided tape, some people use shoe goo, hot glue. .But I found the black fabric paint is the best because it looks the best. It works great and peels off if needed. I have seen wires pull out in flight.

You know what might be an interesting video: "So, you want to buy a used RC helicopter". I think a lot of us have bought "lightly used with 10 flights" used ones off HeliFreaks before. Lol

That would be a great video! Next time I get a used model, I will definitely do that. There is a lot to look for/go through when you purchase a used helicopter.

Also, what questions to ask before buying one online that you can't inspect before you buy (asides things like how many flights or has it been crashed)

The RCPRO 6mm doesn't supply sufficient amount of set screws to use 2 screws, Mikado USA sells them. They work great, but communicating with Taiwan rep, insisted that one set screw was enough. No dam way.

The RCpro S6 do not use that screws unless it’s solderless. I have used countless packages of their S7s and there is always been more than enough screws.

Wiring was always a issue for me, hope to use your tips in a future build. I only wonder what type of crimp tool u use for the connector on the servo wires. I do crimp my servo wires but sometimes one connector fails, it yusyvcrimos ugly and won’t fit the housing.

Wiring has always been my favorite part of a build. I need a video on printing your servo ends. m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hcmdnMKAqLbIpZc.html Just use a crimper off of Amazon. It is a ratchet style and in the video I explain the best way I have found to get a perfect crimp every time.

@@westhobbiesrc8051 Great, many thanks! I see the problem is in the crimping tool I use. The one I have bends the connectors and that makes them hard to fit in the connector.

Awesome vid man. I have the next question, after changing the power connectors on the battery how you actually manage to charge it? Do you have any special charging leads to match those solderless connectors? And do you use an 12s charger if that even exists? Because I have an old Thunder Power charger that can take up to 6s batteries. I’m waiting for the Raptor 50 scale helicopter video 🙌🏼

Thank you! I make up my own charge leads. The how to solder video I just released is the leads I made up for those batteries. Are use a thunder power charger as well! I love that charger it has been the best so far. You charge the battery as to 6S batteries. They do make a up to 16S charger but it runs on 220 V and most people don’t have that. Im about to start on the scale Thunder tiger heli videos!

@@westhobbiesrc8051 yeah i saw that video but didn't make the brain match to these connectors, sorry but i've never used a bigger battery than a 3S for my Trex 450 pro FB heli. My bigger heli has always been a Raptor 50 Titan SE obviusly nitro powered. But someday I want to make the jump for a Goblin 580 or new Trex 550x

@@ChristopherMontaldo the RCpro S7 are hands down the best connectors for 6s and 12s helis. They lock together and no spark on 12s. They are a little pricey but worth every penny!

Do you have the SRXL2 for telemetry? What does it give you over running 2 satellites?

Yes, for telemetry, as well as it is an actual full range receiver so that combined with a single DSMX Satellite gives you perfect signal, strength and peace of mind with redundancy.
