This is my first attempt at a DIY On-Screen Glass Whiteboard. I wanted to write on the screen for KZfaq Videos, so I can give lessons or teach something using actual real-time draws to illustrate while still facing the viewers (camera). I accomplished my objective for under $100, but the only color that shows up well is black. Stay tuned for Version 2 soon, we're going to make some HUGE improvements!
I bought everything at home depot, but you can get similar parts from Amazon, links are in the descriptions below.
I went to home depot and found this piece of plexiglass which is also known as acrylic sheets, it's 24"x48" and 0.22" thick. It was $71.98. Better (thicker) one on Amazon: amzn.to/2ukSWEa . I RECOMMEND a ticker plexiglass as it will have less flexing, or you can go with a slightly smaller sheet like a 24"x36" to reduce flexing further.
Then I got four Husky 1" C-Clamp, they were $1.97 each, for a total of $7.88. Equivalent on Amazon: amzn.to/2NbAoNO (affiliate link)
I also got four 11" Shelf Brackets, they were $3.65 each, for a total of $14.60. Better one on Amazon: amzn.to/2NLN4Ma (affiliate link) If possible, find taller brackets, optimal height is the height of the plexiglass (24"), the closer you get the better and more stable your installation will be.
To assemble everything, I put gaffer's tape on the shelf bracket, on the side that will be touching the Plexiglass to avoid scratching it up.
Then, I simply raised up the Plexiglass and attached the brackets with C-Camps.
Noticed that the brackets don't even need to be attached to the table.
Removed the protective cover on both sides of the Plexiglass , and we're done!
