I've been diagnosed Crohn's for a few years now. Had an issue with a diverticulum, some stuff went wrong in trying to treat it. Hospital tried to put a drain in, whiffed it, now I've got a hole in my colon that shouldn't be there. Got about a foot my colon removed at the end. After the surgery is when I really realized how bad it was, and how sensitive my diet needed to be. I think I let it go way longer than necessary and might have been able to catch it early. I think a lot of men who deal with shit ( :~) ) like this try to ignore it, or chock it up to something else. Push it away and forget as soon as you feel better. Actually getting help is the reason I'm alive right now, because when I drove myself into the hospital I was beginning to go septic. Be careful man. Be aware. I hope you have a swift recovery. This happened to me when I was 22 years old, I was the youngest sigmoid colectomy every done at my local hospital by a margin of over 10 years. I never thought I'd consider myself lucky to be shitting. Even more lucky to be shitting out of my god given hole and not a human made one. I guess I'm just saying I can relate. I hope you find everything that works to help you. You're a real inspiration man. I really, really wish you the best.

Be cautious with big changes in your diet. Sometimes it can trigger a relapse. My recommendation is wean yourself off them over time. Eat small personal size pizzas (400 calorie) less and less over months until you no longer crave them. Even then, it's okay if you occasionally want one. At about 65 calories per ounce (similar to bread) they are not as bad as people think. The key is portion control. Good luck.

Man, Tom talking about how he felt about his body during the Chron's years really mimic my own journey with IBD. Being super skinny and not being able to doing anything about it was the worst. (Apart from your life oozing out your butt, that's pretty awful to deal with too). Tom being open about it is awesome, it's just how it is, more people should know about it being a thing, cause it's a damn near invisible disease most of the time. But you adapt, cope, occationally poop blood and try to move on. Hope the prednisone doesn't hit too hard, that stuff can help but man can it mess things up too.

Saint Michael The Holy One thanks I figured I'd ask... Am curious as I've heard it helps. My friends wife keeps going to the hospital and I'm afraid to even bring it up bc I'm not a doctor and don't want to be the person to recommend anything. Appreciate the reply
