Thank you so much. I can now use my 82 inch projector screen to play my PC games using my Valve Steam Link device as well as all of my gaming consoles.

Most of those old vga projectors can't deal with 1080p signals. Mine, an Epson projector can do 720p but won't take 1080p signal at all. I need a hdmi vga converter that downscales the 1080p signal to 720p, otherwise I can't connect my chromecast to my projector, only PCs set a 720p. Not even my phone's image is displayed because of the unsuported resolution.

If you can't hear it , get a wireless speaker , it worked for me

I gave £30 for a viewsonic projector and it's awesome it was thst price as they was no remote with it

To get audio i used a vga with audio cable. Its hard to find around my way but its on Amazon.

you do realize that instead of getting a male to male vga, a female to female hdmi and an hdmi cable you could also just get a way cheaper vga cable and plug the adapter directly into the hdmi of the source right?

I have acquired a vga projector that has been rarely used. My daughter's school was upgrading a ton of things and this came about. Its I believe around 12 years old and even then it was 4,000 dollar projector so i couldn't see just throwing it in the trash. Ain't happenin! Especially just occasional usage. Any way I couldn't understand upon researching why it say's hdmi but there is no HDMI port. The exact one I found online numbers and everything says HDMI and shows no port I don't get it is there more than one HDMI or is it saying that vga or everything is HDMI? I thought it was its own thing. You can convert anything in the back to HDMI but not sure.which is best for best quality and for external stereo sound

Yeah Im still using a projector with 2 VGA ports. I have a hdmi to vga adapter. I got a Chromecast and a Fire Stick connect to both. The problem lm having is the chromecast randomly disconnects only when playing a movie within 15 minutes. The Fire Stick disconnects but not as often sometimes 2 hr into a movie or so. Thinking bout trying a different brand hdmi to vga adapter. Any recommandation ?
