Upper cervical instability is a primary focus of the Hauser Neck Center at Caring Medical Florida. Every day we are making discoveries in patients who have bizarre and disabling neurological symptoms that have gone undiagnosed or unresolved by their local primary care doctors or even other well-known specialty clinics. In this video, Ross Hauser, MD discusses how upper cervical instability impacts the brainstem and leads to many of the symptoms that we help in our clinic, as well as our approach to resolving the issue without surgery or a lifetime of medication.
To learn more about Prolotherapy and Digital Motion X-ray, or to have Dr. Hauser's team review your case, please reach out to us and tell us more about your symptoms. www.caringmedical.com/conditi...
You can also email directly at drhauser@caringmedical.com.

Results may not be the same from patient to patient, even with a similar diagnosis, as the body’s internal status is unique to each individual patient.

After years of severe anxiety, migraines, jaw pain with severe clenching and cracking molars, worsening hearing loss with ringing and whooshing, forgetting how to swallow, neck/shoulder pain that climbs up back of skull into "ice pick" in eye...this morning I awoke with usual heart pounding, hyperventilation, beginnings of neck migraine, but I CAN HEAR! You tube is easy to hear today and my TV doesn't need to be at a high number of audio! I just had a call from a doc's office and I heard them easily! I'm so excited, but what happened?

Thankyou for sharing your experience and knowledge on KZfaq, for 4 years I've been dealing with seizures, balance issues, ataxia, involuntary movements, light sensitivity amongst other symptoms, I was told a few suspected diagnoses of non- epileptic seizures, to Functional neurological disorder, to epilepsy and even a possible cerebellum dysfunction or brainstem issue I didn't agree with most of these suspected diagnoses I knew something was really wrong systematically. Your video appeared about how upper cervical instability can cause balance issues I was totally shocked and intrigued in regards to that information but it made alot of sense once I watched a few more of your other videos. I recently purchased a cervical collar to assess if I may have upper cervical instability , and I'm getting positive outcomes it's only been a week and half but it has made a difference. Espeacially with my balance and coordination and I'm seeing positive results with the seizures when I wear the collar I've noticed a decrease in my seizure activity. What's really amazing is the seizure still happens but it's not so physically present like the outline of a seizure presents it's hard to describe. An example is I would have periods where I loose uncousiness during a seizure but with the collar on it's only brief and I'm alert quite quickly. I'm in the process in getting referred to an orthopedic speacialist to get properly assessed for upper cervical instability.

I'm saving all these videos and blowing up my PCP. I'm very adamant about pursuing treatments that get to the root cause. I've been power watching all the videos and all my studies on me ally life, As a kid with fibro, or any illness that makes you watch your friends sledding from a window, you find a way to get out there. I always did. Intuitively, I was doing things with pressure, painful as it was, It always got me up.. I've brought all this to my doctor's, some got on board, others look at me like I don't believe THEM.. AND I DONT.. I've done this too. And held gallon bottles with my fingers to help stretch out my shoulders and neck. My doc was against it.. trying to say I was making it worse myself.. But the tests don't lie.. and you my friend,, have proven it. You have proven so much I could have been your poster child.. lol I sent videos to my x husband, he so proud , he acts like he " discovered " you lolol years ago.

Thank you again. Robert Katz ( Rush Univ. ) published years ago that loss of the lordotic neck curve is a characteristic of fibromyalgia. But it is astounding to me that fibromyalgia is still considered a “ mystery” disease - often thought to be related to “ hysterical “ women. Part of the problem is that much of medical research is funded by Pharma and there is no hope of a blockbuster drug for these critical structural issues. Wow. These are the most important medical videos on the internet.
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy 3 жыл бұрын
Hi nanallen1, Thank you for sharing and for your kind feedback. Yes, it is so unfortunate when patients are dismissed as "hysterical" or "drug-seeking" or "just too stressed" or any of the many other terms people have told us over the years during their search to try and find a doctor who not only takes them seriously but also has the tools to try and figure out what is really happening to cause their symptoms. There are so many times when patients have a real structural cause to their problems and once it's discovered then a treatment plan can be developed. We're glad that the information in the videos has been enlightening and we wish you all the best in health!

I was hit with a object above my ear in a work accident. Also dx with whiplash. But not a head injury. Drs said a neurological disease. Corrupt insurance drs. The nausea, dizziness lasted almost 2yrs. Cervical MRI done 6wks after accident showed mild brainstem and suspect hindbrain lesions on the one side. Which all disappear, 2yrs later, on a future scan. Had scans for yrs before accident for spinal stenosis. Always clear brain scans till the accident. Still vision issues and headache 5yrs later. Drs won't even address the stenosis above my fusion but blame everything on a disease.

I have stretched neck muscles from lack of bicep tendon, and I will wake up from heart racing, b/p raised. When I massage my neck, these symptoms usually go away. Today I was on treadmill, had neck pain before getting on treadmill, I had my arms forward with hands resting on front of treadmill, then after ten minutes, I started feeling weird/light/weak legs. I felt my neck pulse and could feel my pulse harder than softer, like my b/p was fluctuating. I stopped treadmill, stood there a few minutes, and got back on treadmill when weird feelings subsided (i wanted to make sure I wasnt having heart failure or something) so I immediately started walking fast with my arms back and fourth like I would outside and also massaged my neck. That weird feeling didn't come back and I stayed on treadmill for another 25 minutes to see if I would feel weird/weak again. Im guessing my heart was ok because the b/p fluctuation didn't come back, so Im guessing it was a result of the neck problems Im having and had my head too forward when first starting on the treadmill?

What really scares me is the fact that symptoms of cervical instability do not start at the neck, most people first have symptoms like brainfog, asthma, allergies, sleep disorders and most people have no idea that they have this... With our addiction to looking down at our phones I predict that cervical instability aswel as MS and fibromialaga will surge in the next 15 - 20 years. I really hope doctors like yourself go on a mass marketing campaign to raise awareness of this problem, because millions will be effected.

We have other videos on these topics too, trying to help people understand the bigger picture based on the research and what we see in our practice. Wish you all the best in health!

Yes it is really scary. I had no idea my heart palpitations, fatigue and shortness of breath was coming from my neck until I started feeling like I couldn't hold my head up and could no longer exercise or lift things. I still was told by drs that it was just pulled trap muscle and anxiety n I should've known better and researched it sooner than I did. Can't believe they said I had pulled muscles and they didn't even hurt but neck and trap muscles were very stiff which I finally found out from Dr Hauser's website and my upper cervical chiropractor was bc the neck muscles stiff up as defense mechanism to stabilize the spine. This should be common knowledge among ALL doctors!!

Do patients need Chiro + Prolotherapy? If a C1 or C2 is rotated - does one need manipulation first?
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert, Good question. Going to just any chiropractor is not recommended for upper cervical adjustments. In the ideal situation, the chiropractor would be very familiar with Prolotherapy and use a technique that will be easier on the ligaments. There are also instruments we (and many chiropractors) have that can help make adjustments prior to treatment, if needed. Most people, however, do not necessarily need to do manipulation first, especially if they have been historically unable to hold adjustments. This is a lot of our patient population, and they need Prolotherapy more than manipulation to start healing the ligaments so they can eventually hold proper alignment.

Caring Medical Regenerative Medicine Clinics how frequent are the prolotherapy treatments for maintenance?
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy 4 жыл бұрын
@@alexlee8639 Hi Alex, Most people need an initial treatment series of 3-8 (usually given 2-6 weeks apart) and then would not necessarily require additional maintenance unless there is a re-injury, or issues that cause the condition to return or impede healing ability. Some people need a tune-up many months or years later.

Hi dontaveous hinson, Thanks for reaching out, and glad that you're doing some research into what could be the underlying cause of your dizziness. We are not a Medicaid facility but we do list all of our prices on our website. We understand that it is not feasible for everyone to travel here, however, if it is something that you are considering, we treat patients from Alabama and throughout the US. There are more detailed pages on becoming a patient on our site: www.caringmedical.com/head-neck-specialist-visit/ If you wanted our team to review your case in more detail and see if you sound like a good candidate, we'd be happy to do that with you. We wish you all the best in health and a happy 2021!

Do people with MCAS, systemic histamine release and extreme allergies respond well to prolotherapy?
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy 4 жыл бұрын
Hi BTassie, We have helped patients who have MCAS and systemic allergies. We would definitely want to review your case in much more detail first to see if you sound like a good candidate. Glad that your research led you to look into the possibility of Comprehensive Prolotherapy as a treatment option, and Digital Motion X-ray as a diagnostic tool to see more of the cervical instability and curve analysis. Upper cervical instability is one of the primary reasons patients come to our neck center at Caring Medical Florida. If you would like, we have a more detailed intake form on our neck pain patient page on our website where you could tell us more about what is going on with you, what you've tried, what your goals are, and upload pertinent image reports that you would like us to see to help determine if this could be a good fit for your. Wish you all the best in health and in your search for resolving your CCI and ANS problems.

Hi MEOWSTRESS TV -THE KITTEN KRYPT - So sorry to hear what you're going through and we understand how the symptoms can continue to progress after any type of physical trauma like a car wreck. Very often in cases like what you've described our patients would need to move to Florida for a couple of months to get to a more stabilized state, then travel back and forth would be ok for remaining subsequent treatments. We detail our general approach more on our site. www.caringmedical.com/head-neck-specialist-visit/ We understand that travel is not feasible for everyone, nor can we accept every case, but if you feel that you would like to have our team more closely review your case and determine if our center would be able to see you for motion diagnostics and treatment, you are always welcome to reach out to us directly. Wish you all the best in healing!

Can cervical instability effect testosterone and libido?
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Doc Moccasin official, If cervical instability is impairing the vagus nerve function, then it can affect hormone production. As with any suspected diagnosis, a more comprehensive case assessment would need to be done in order to determine the underlying cause and what the ideal treatment would be to help someone return to their normal hormone levels and libido.

Hi Keez Jordan, Sorry to hear you have been dealing with the injury for so many decades. Medicine keeps advancing, and in the last 3 decades has seen many advancements in the technology that can help visualize cervical instability-related conditions and symptoms . But even still, many doctors do not specialize in this area of medicine. Our center treats patients who travel here from all over the world because their local doctors are still puzzled by the complexity of their case. Unfortunately, cervical instability is a progressive disorder, and the longer it goes on and the more treatments that are tried and failed, the more complex the case becomes. Thus, the need for an experienced specialist in challenging cases becomes necessary. Glad you are looking into possible options to explore for your case and you are not giving up on getting to the bottom of the original injury. We wish you all the best in health!
