Have now watched this young couples project and am impressed at their enthusiasm, clear ambition to improve their own and their family's outlook on life. Perhaps if we had more of these wonderful young people in our society we wouldn't have all the problems we see in our countries with the unhappiness, vandalism, drugs and general discontentment which our young people seem to have. Here are a young couple who enjoy bringing their dream to life together in a lovely amazing way. May God give them strength to complete the task and I look forward to seeing the finished product in due course. Of course the new way of life will continue for the rest of their lives.Thanks for sharing this dream with us!!!

Guys, I just wanted to let you know how moved I am by you two, not just by your enterprise, but more importantly by your bond, by the unity that made all this possible for you. I am pretty sure you know how lucky you are to have each other. That is what is building your home, spiritually and materially. May God bless you. I am not American. I am writing from Rome (Italy), but please know that what you have is the rarest kind of wealth on this planet. When I watch your videos I witness real love, two people walking towards the same horizon. Again, God bless you.

I built my home in'97, pay as you go...took 3 years but paid for on completion. There is no law that says you can't build your own home. I'm a medical professional not a builder...I just read books and watched videos. No one should pay for 30 years.

I just found your channel after SLR people we're talking during their latest live chat about the horrible storm you had and to go check out the video and they had said to come check out your channel after watching that video I cried and then I watched the two time lapse videos about the build and venture to 1 million followers I was immediately hooked now I have been watching every video from the beginning all day long from the very first video in the truck. It has been amazing to see how you both tackled this amazing project and how you have grown as KZfaq producers I've had a channel for 8 years and completely stopped cuz I wasn't doing it the way I should and restarted recently and only have one video.. You have an amazing family and an amazing story to tell I am so sorry to hear about everything that you guys are going through recently but I know God has amazing plans in store for you thank you for sharing your amazing story you are an inspiration. I give every video I can remember a thumbs up and I will I'm sure I will come in again towards the end!!!!!!

My wife and I LOOOOVE the minimalism you've embraced to see your dream and vision come to pass.
@justicia5783
@justicia5783 4 жыл бұрын
Perhaps, "we" should consider quotation marks to embrace this particular contextual use of the word, "minimalism" for their lives and way of life is so varied, full, and rich....I don't know...maybe , "selectivism" or discriminating The casting aside of some largely unnecessary or unfulfilling modern "conveniences" aka excess baggage or contrivances for a "simple life" lol hardly seems to qualify as minimalism . Now, if they were still taking dumps in the woods and living by fire light; up with the sun down at nightfall then I'd be more receptive to the notion that this family was truly leading or prepared to "embrace" the minimalism of which you appear to speak

What's really fascinating? Y'all being so much in agreement on not wasting money! That's difficult for the best couples to accomplish! I've (finally) had a career for 10 years and married 7, and we've never paid for television. We are 100% debt-free as of one week ago (mortgage finished too). But there are still a lot of dumb expenses, like eating out, or cut, color, and style every six weeks. Our goal is to buy land and start contracting our house build in five years. Y'all being on the same page with ALL OF IT is the most powerful way to get there fast!

We went down to Netflix on a Roku, no cell phones at all (no reception in our area at the time anyway), no new cars or car payments, no eating out, heat with wood, all LED lights, etc. We got all of our windows as returns at Lowe's -- one purchase was a lot of eight at less than half price. I also learned a new trade about six years ahead of time -- one that could be done online so there was no travel at all. We moved in way before the house was done (still not done) and the building inspector was fine with that (not likely to be the case everywhere). Our well and septic was about $22,000.00 which was a big hit -- but we had both put in ahead of time and spread the cost out. Like you guys, we had a massive house previously, and not only did not use half the rooms, the kids would disappear into the far corners of the house and we would rarely see them. The heating and cooling bill was massive, and it was a full time job to clean. You guys are definitely on the right track. Look forward to seeing where you guys take this, good luck to you!

Or a knock out body? What about kindness or a good sense of humor? People can turn into gorgeous when you appreciate them for who they are. Last summer I watched as a friend of my son in law basically ignored a young woman he’d brought to their house for a holiday meal. She was better looking than him and ten to fifteen years younger but he was treating her like co-worker ( which she was) but she had eyes for him and he couldn’t see. Because she wasn’t a ten he wasn’t going to date her. He’s almost forty hasn’t dated much and here is a woman looking at you like

@@Johnrider1234 lol, im 53 and my wife is a bit older than me but looks 10 years younger. I look around at my peers and their wives and realize how extremely lucky I am....we got married when I was 40, 13 years ago....they are out there.

Thank you for this explanation! My wife and I plan to sell our city home and build on rural land in 2020. We’ve been a bit discouraged, because virtually all the other videos we’ve seen are put out by “sponsored” young couples. (Parents giving land, money, support). My wife and I don’t have that luxury. This video gives us more hope!

TracFones, a TV antenna on the roof, a cord of hardwood is equal to 200 gallons of heating oil, orienting the house true east-west and putting extra windows on the south for solar heating are just a few ways to save money. I'm 67 and built my house starting in 1986, it isn't finished yet. Pay down your current house as much as you can. Do not get a home building loan, it gives the bank control of the construction and they can be nasty. We took a home equity loan on the old house to build the new house. When the new house was done enough to move into, we sold the old house and had money left over. Find the old Mother Earth News Magazines from the 70s. They have a lot of practical info in them. One last tip get the right tools at the begining, a one ton truck, a tractor-loader-backhoe, and a welder generator. Good Luck

Very motivational you guys. My wife and i are in the same boat having finally eliminated all our debt. No medical bills, cars paid for, only credit card paid off and cut, using strictly debit purchases, etc. We are in the process of buying our first home. Nothing fancy, an actual fixer upper. I was losing motivation going without and pinching pennies every week. Then i came across your videos. You honestly gave me a new found energy and vigour. Im excited again looking at you two and how far youve come, knowing as long as i dont quit we can get there too. Thank you for everything youve shared. God bless you 2 and your fam.

You are a great inspiration to young couples. Many people are not willing to sacrifice, or they are afraid to try something different. Your planning ahead is paying off. You are making it work.

You two have sacrificed for your dream and it’s almost completed. You both are the hardest working and most talented couple I seen. I enjoy watching this channel. Keep up the good work. This house will always be filled with love and happiness.

You guys are just so wonderful to watch. great video's, love watching you build I've done my share. But what I really love as much as the build is the power of your connection with each other the affection, gratitude, its a great example for many people to witness.

There are many ways to own a home without having to have a 30 year mortgage. The way you're going about it is a smart way. You have a rental on your property to offset the cost of the property. You also are building your own home rather than paying someone to do it all. Almost 2/3rds of the cost of a new home is labor. Doing it yourself saves a lot of money. My first single family home I took a ten year mortgage out on it. I accelerated the payments so that I would have it paid off in 5 years. Ended up zeroing out my 10 year loan in 4 years. One does not have to follow the example that so many follow. You two are building a home and a lifetime of memories building your own home. Thanks for sharing video on KZfaq, it's one of my favorite channels to watch.

wow, lol, your plan is very much like ours, sell or give away everything and live in an RV while the house is built. Like you said, small house, very small....English cottage small but not tiny house, that's too small. I am so grateful to you and all the other homesteaders and DIY'ers for all you give through your channels, knowledge, experience, motivation, passion and hope. Thank you!
