Not everyone was sure he was on steroid tho,i follow a youtuber that spent his whole life on gyms,many on professional competitions and is professional coach that said it was possible to liver king be natural if he had rare genetics Another point is that the Liver King is not just about selling a fake natural body standards,i feel like hes part of a whole reactionarie ideolgy that says everything is wrong with modernity and men arent manly anymore and we need to come back to the past traditions while encouraging people getting into some unhealthly diets of raw meat

About everyone’s “what a surprise take”, I honestly felt like sure _we_ aren’t shocked, but the video was so crucially important because _we_ weren’t the main victims. I think a lot of people who spend a lot of time in the lifting space forget that when we were high school aged newbies, if you said you were natty you could’ve looked like Ronnie Coleman and we’d believe you. Let alone if you craft the elaborate lie that the Liver King did. It was such a great takedown because it’s a great example of the glaring difference between what’s sold and what’s true. When we talk about fake natties and liars in the industry from now on this will be the prime example for all the people new to the fitness space

More than anything, this video (and MPMD’s before) just gives closure. I don’t have to hear about him rubbing elbows or shouting about tenants again. No one should take him seriously and we can move on, until the next viral sensation arrives. But when they do, I’m sure they will remember what happened to the last guy, for whatever that’s worth

He looks the way he does because of steroids and not because of his supplements. He even admitted that he’s a broken person and so what good are his “tenets” if he’s still miserable if not for his steroid use.

I literally watch your videos as soon as you put them out. A Charlatan is the only way to describe it. All week I have been saying “why is everybody saying ‘we already knew this’”? No shit we has a niche community knew it. The point is proof now! Proof to help the people that dont know better! People that did know better can no longer benefit from his scam either, and there were alot of them. You showed some of them. I actually listened to Dereks video when driving to work and first half hour at work few days ago. So I had no idea you actually were part of producing it and that you were the guy with these awesome long quotes that just happened to fit in this situation really well, I remember poundering. But this explains why it was such a compelling whole story, this was so very much unlike other content I had seen from Derik which usually seemed to be the very opposite of tight and directional, right :D

Shout out to Alex! 🙌 I think the extreme messaging we get these days are just a culmination of years of advertising bullshit. It's got to be more and more crazy to pop the bubble that most people live in. Given that though, people without some kind of healthy scepticism of any campaign like the liver liar has presented are just easy marks for his kind of crap. It would've been a longer road for him had he been truthful or natural and peddled his products but he wanted everything NOW. Health and fitness is a journey and lifestyle and never comes quickly or easily.

Become a snake oil salesman selling an overpriced product that doesn't fix a manufactured problem. It's a con as old as time. "You have this problem I just made up. That's why you aren't where you want to be in life. Use this overpriced thing I sell, and/or pay for these courses I teach and you will be like me." It's like all those ads you see for finance coaching or how to start your own online business. They tell you if you pay for their courses they will teach you how to get rich. What they don't tell you is that by the time you've gone through their $500 course you realize they got rich simply by selling those courses, and that's what they want you to do. "I'll teach you how to start your own online business." They're gonna teach you how to start an online business selling courses on how to run an online business and/or try to rope you in to the same pyramid scheme they got roped in to. Start selling for someone, they take a massive percentage, and you can't realsitically make enough off of those sales to make a living unless you then rope more gullible people in to work under you so that you can take a percentage of what they make and increase your "mentor's" income in the process.

When I first came across the Liver King I could tell he was a fraud right away because if you are natural and you are doing natural lifting outside of the gym you would look more like a warrior than a bodybuilder. I don't know how long ago that was maybe 5-6 years ago but that's around the time I started calling him the liver fraud and I've never once watched any of his videos

I think your part in the video really helped set the tone for the whole thing. Like this wasn’t just a ‘natty or not’ debate but a discussion on why it’s important for influencers to be honest with their audiences, especially in the fitness industry. Like yeah I think a lot of people can reasonably guess when someone is taking PEDs but when that use of drugs also helps enhance their sales it should definitely be challenged/confronted. Great video - thank you. For everyone that says people deserve to be scammed if they believed he was natty, I disagree. Some people are young, inexperienced or simply vulnerable. They may be autistic, have downs syndrome etc, meaning they tend to trust people, and believe their idols when they lie. Vulnerable people work out, live independently, have jobs, are consumers. They don't deserve to be scammed out of their hard earned cash.

I watched the video by.@moreplatesmoredates last night. I think you both did an amazing job, but I wanted to add a layer which you both implied, but didn’t explicitly say. I work in the fitness industry and the damage that the Liver King has done will be long lasting. Of course anyone with even the smallest amount of exercise knowledge could look at him and “know” he was running a lot of gear. And yet he garnered millions of followers. And the real shame is that much of what he said was positive. We DO need to move more, we SHOULD take some time each day for self reflection. So now those tenants will be discarded. True transformation is incredibly difficult, it takes time and consistent effort. And those who are most in need of change are also those most looking for someone or something to follow. It’s really a shame that he felt he had to lie to reach people!

I don’t look at LiverKing any different and I still like the guy. Anyone with any sense already knew he wasn’t honest about his PED use, as are so many other fitness figures with less fame and influence. It’s pretty bizarre that private confidential emails were exposed to the public and it says a lot about the character of those responsible for that. You can hide behind the false virtue of exposing LK to “help” gullible people who think he’s natural, but it’s very apparent that most fitness pundits that are so butthurt about LK’s business methods are just jealous of him being ultra successful. What LK preaches is still very wholesome and impacts thousands positively. To tear a man apart and violate his privacy simply because he isn’t transparent about his PED use is a consequence of salient envy from his clout-grabbing detractors.
