Welcome back to episode #4 of "How/Why To Become..." Today I am excited to welcome Dr. Josh Hayden, a current Anesthesia Chief Resident at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Hayden will be starting his Cardiovascular Anesthesiology fellowship in the summer of 2021 at the University of Minnesota! We sat down and talked about everything Anesthesia! Dr. Hayden explains exactly what Anesthesiology is and debunks a lot of common misconceptions in the field. He talks about how to get into an Anesthesiology fellowship, the length of training, what to look forward too and his awesome work life balance. Plus much more!

Question: if you wanna dual apply for anesthesia & IM, how do you go about applying to a prelim IM program at Institution and a 3-year IM program at the same institution?

Hey Tom when applying through Eras you have to apply separately to both your (prelim/transitional year) and your advanced fellowship separately. For the same institution just make sure to apply to both! Good Luck!
