Mazzula sets the tone for this team. He says it in many ways, “Oh well…” no fire in the belly. I would like to see him have a show of emotion like Malone before the Nuggets game last night. Payton Pritchard was the best player with speed, fire, and energy last game. It mattered to him!

Mazulla needs to make adjustments. Tatum should stop playing point guard. Let White or Holiday bring the ball. Tatum should be a post-up player. Or a catch and shooter. The offense stagnates when he dribbles too much.

Agreed. He slow paces and surveys. JB does this too at times. The ball is better in the hands of jrue, pp or white. Let them playmake. And no more JT/JB jumpers after theu miss a couple. I just want to see drives and cuts or postups.

JT “made his bone” practicing with Kobe during the off-seasons; this explains why he always goes for spectacular but difficult shots to emulate his idol. While Kobe had Shaq and Gasol and Bynum to cover his back, Jayson has no such luxury; no disrespect to Horford who has always performed above par!

it's a fact that the Cs get in their own way -- they're like .500 at home over the last couple of playoff runs. i expect a great bounce back game just like last series, but i sincerely hope it's not a blowout. under 10 pts would be ideal so they need to stay focused & play all 48 mins. maybe then the wild swings from mega to dud can be tamed a little.

I think you're slightly wrong here. When JTs got 18 its TATUM with a good game. this doesnt necessarily equate to a win or having it. When White or Sam have 18 at that point, this equates to win/having it. Bottomline here, if JT is baited into being a pure scorer (miami game 2, cavs game 2) to the detriment of getting the others unlocked early, we lose. A good white or hauser game typically means a blowout. And the math supports it. Conclusion: dont focus on getting JT going early. Focus on getting white or sam going early. Once they're hitting their 3s, the offense for JT and the others become easier.

@@TheRobversion1 I could see the logic , but it’s definitely flawed …. Sam Hauser having 18 just means he’s got a few good threes …. As we have ALL seen before, THAT does not automatically equate to a win My point here was that the narrative changes according to the outcome , the classic winning solves everything 🤷🏻‍♂️
@TheRobversion1
@TheRobversion1 11 күн бұрын
@@dragonslayerthegod9284 it has led to our most lopsided wins than losses. Even chris forsberg mentions it. White and hauser (to a lesser extent) are the barometers of celtics blowout wins. Not jt, not jb, jrue, not al, not pp. Those 2 ( Kp KP is a far 3rd). What this essentially means in practice is when the the Js are looking to score, the pace slows down, the others get frozen out, theres less threats on the floor, theres less in double figures (see game 2). When white and/or Sam are hot, this means that the offense is being run (god knows sam sucks at creating for himself), the pace is faster (hello d.white mr. 0.5 basketball) and theres multiple players in double figures (the Js get theirs even when hauser/white are hot, just not as much as when they shot hunt). i did Get your point about how the narrative changes. That wasnt what i was speaking on. What i was pointing out that JT having 18 by the 1st half isnt a good CELTICS game. Its just a good JT game. Thats why i said i only slightly disagree. I actually agree with your main point. I was just pointing out a nuance in the initial paragraph.

They gotta get the ball to guys on the move going to the basket, everything orginates from drives at the perimeter. The off ball movement is what rescues bad shooting nights, there was NONE gm2 vs mia and none gm2 vs Cle. Cant only rely on PnR dribble drives to get to the rim.

Tatum is a great talent but he has no dawg in him. His hero is Kobe and he mimics Kobe's game but he doesn't have the competitive nature of Kobe. He is Kobe without the killer instinct. Let's just all accept it. And this era of the Celts will not see a chip. Facts.

You dont need dawg to win. Thats a stupid narrative. Timmy won. Hakeem won. Jokic won. However, if you arent a dawg you have to play smart like Timmy. You cant win without being a dawg or being smart . Thing is JT sometimes devolves into dumb basketball. He shows signs of getting out of it then as soon as the media and internet trolls criticize him for not scoring enough, he goes back to dumb basketball. JT is not an alpha scorer. And he will never be. Its not his best skillset. Hes a do it all forward more in the mold of pippen, kawhi, grant hill, draymond. The more he accepts this and lets the better scorers on the team score, then he will win a chip. Spo knows this. JB bickerstaff copied it. The way you make JT play dumb is you bait him into being a scorer. It takes away JTs strengths. JTs biggest strength on offense is being able draw 2 and find the open man (essentially the point forward described above). Once he plays dumb and tries to do it himself/get himself going, he freezes everyone out because he takes too long to get going/slows the pace down. TL:DR: we arent winning with JT as the #1 option. We are winning if hes a #2-#3.

@@TheRobversion1 I think your mistaking what guys like Duncan and Jokic are. Just because they aren’t vocal doesn’t mean they’re not dawgs… Those guys are all about business not an ounce of softness, how many times do you see joker complaining to the refs?? How often did Duncan disappear in big games?? The issue is JT just doesn’t lack Dawg he’s soft can’t win with his mentality…
@TheRobversion1
@TheRobversion1 12 күн бұрын
@@champchamp3745 i think you and i just have different definitions. Think of it this way, dawg is physical, aggressive emotions. What you're describing is more mental stuff (the thinking man's game). The guys mentioned arent expressive. They dont bark. They dont taunt. They dont demand the ball (like a dawg would do like kobe). What timmy, jokic and hakeem understand and do is they beat the opponent as a team. They outthink them, they play the decoy, they direct traffic (tell people where to go instead of asking for the ball and taking the shot). They are mentally resilient (smart/soft) vs. determined to win/wants the moment (dog). Think how many game-winners timmy/hakeem/jokic have. Compare them to guys like mj, kobe, etc. Then think how many times have the teammates of those players got game winners or those players have been praised for making the right read on offense. Then think of how often guys lik kobe have been praised for making the right read. These are personality traits. You can look it up in Sports Psychology. As a spurs fan, i can say Duncan disappeared alot in big games offensively. You know what didnt disappear? Him giving the game what it needs. Whether thats a pass out of the post, the hockey assist, the screen assist, crashing the board for a backbreaking putback... These are what made timmy special. Its not because he was an alpha scorer. It was because he gave the game what it needs and did things outside scoring that contribute to winning. And yes as a spurs fan, i've heard so many times that timmy got called for being soft (usually lakers fans). So yeah, being soft is fine. I understood that timmy is indeed a finesse (soft) player. But i understood eventually you dont have to be a dawg to win. You can be smart. So JT can win even if hes soft. He just has to be smart. He doesnt have to force himself to be what he really isnt: a dawg, an alpha scorer, etc. He can be like timmy, hakeem and jokic and win.

The Celtics are a very poorly built, very soft and only have one plan to victory. Endless 3s, they have no plan B. Sadly this team will never win a chip. They need someone like a Jimmy Buckets. Someone who can stress the defense. Tatum and Brown are not true super stars. It’s the biggest waste of talent I have ever seen. Please Big Al stop taking endless 3s. Home court actually means nothing for this team.
