@@PaulVanderKlay I disagree with him in some areas, but I appreciated his tone. And it's good for conservatives to hear from people they disagree with.

"It's family - we're being kicked out" No, you're not being kicked out. You are leaving of your own volition because a position that is counter to Biblical teaching is more important to you than unity -- as if to be consistent with Biblical teaching were not even more important than unity. Further, you are attempting to garner sympathy for your position by casting yourself as the victim, when you are clearly the one using your agency, volition, free will, whatever you want to call it, to bring about the split.

That doesn't make any sense. If their goal was to bring about a split, they'd just quit and would have done so by now. Unless they're prolonging it for performative purposes (which certainly doesn't seem to be the case), your thesis doesn't line up with the obvious facts. Your idea would apply equally to both sides - our view on this specific is more important than maintaining historical classes with the CRC.

@@matthewkilbride1669 They've stayed this long because they have the "progressive" mindset of historical inevitability. It's taken this kind of unequivocal action, to convince them otherwise. They're having trouble processing that. They have no interest in unity. Only their idol of "progress"

@@matthewkilbride1669 Wow, KZfaq didn't process this. Let me restate. You could argue the _goal_ was not to bring about a split. The _goal_ was to bring their idol of "progress" into the CRC, and they're perhaps still in shock that it didn't work. That as it turns out they're not "on the right side of history" after all. The faithfulness of Abide has left them with a choice: unity in faithfulness to God's Word, or a split. No one is forcing them not to choose unity. No one is forcing them to be "out". They are, through their own volition, choosing a split.

@@matthewkilbride1669 You are correct, their goal was not to bring about a split. Their goal was to break with established church doctrine and get away with it (assuming the leadership wouldn't do anything about it). This was made abundantly clear at the 2018 All One Body meeting. Now, Jim is also correct, no one is getting kicked out. They are being called to repentance, but many will leave rather than repent.

@@jeffp3415 but will they get kicked out eventually? What happens if they just keep hanging around? What does discipline actually look like? And if they did get kicked out, didn’t someone make that choice? I’m not trying to speaking in riddles, just in real terms.
