@Jay Chen, you should start interviewing SE Asians and ask them about their experience here in Taiwan. I bet you get a very different feeling from them than from us privileged westerners and East Asians. And do a trip to other cities. Taipei is great. I fricking love it there but my experience of Taiwan was very different once I moved to Taichung.

I live in Miaoli County, which is a beautiful place to reside once you earn a certain amount of money since Taiwan is relatively cheaper than most European countries. Foreigners usually earn more than locals, and most people here are friendly, whether you are in the city or countryside.

If you don’t have a kitchen in Taipei, maybe you can try to join the local cooking group which people gathering for cooking or sharing food in the weekend. That’s a good chance to use other one’s house kitchen 😂

Is taiwan safe in terms of earthquake? Since its highly earthquake prone? Also if i want to move to Taiwan with my 4 year old kid then how is the education system there? Do they provide education in English?
