Thanks Lanita! I will be coming out with a new training course for PS 2020 shortly and one for Illustrator 2020 early next year. I don't get into animation much any more so not sure if I will be doing any new training on that. I used to do quite a bit of training for Flash, but that is pre-history. George

Quick additional tip for setting your guidelines: to set the lines at the halfway point on both vectors, you can enter in "50%" for both to get a perfectly centered crosshair.

Depends on how you want to use it. Most images are saved as jpeg because most images are for the web. But if you want to use the image with a professional printing service you should ask the service what format they recommend.

ok when i saved in jpeg the white background is there I just want the circle log so how do I do it thank you?

If you want a transparent background you will need to save to either the gif or png format. Jpg does not support transparency

Hi George, Hope all is well with you. I must thank you for your video really helpful and this is the first time I am using photoshop I have the 2020 version. So many videos out there but yours was simple amazing to every detail. Only thing which was annoying for me was finding certain buttons but I eventually find them in view and as soon as I use the character button the circle increases to look like yours because at the beginning it was small and I was getting frustrated. My logo is round and has similar green colour it is for a charity I am doing so it is important. George any ideas as to why the ellipse tool not making the same size circle like yours 1000px and 750px its doing very small circle I was hoping by clicking the character button again it would work I need to make a circle again. Any help is most appreciated. I now must learn how to do an A5 flyer and a A5 programme (A4 folded in half) for the fundraising. I have now subscribe and I will watch more of your videos to learn. HI, when making a circle you click and drag out the circle. That will make it whatever size you want. If you want a specific size then you need to set that size in the options. You can also adjust the size after you make the circle in the Properties Panel.

This tutorial was very helpful and I've used Indesign and Illustrator for making type on a circular path, so I understand the concept. When I try to do it in Photoshop using the Path, the line of type goes wild. Some letters correctly follow the curve, others fall over or are tilted at bizarre angles. The type is small enough that this shouldn't happen. Any explanation please ? I will probably end up vectorising the type in InDesign and just importing it otherwise. Thank you very much.

Sounds like your curve is too wavy, text on a curve works well for gentle curves, but if the curve is too extreme then you could get letters at odd angles

@@HTGGeorge Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. However the path is just a simple circle, large enough to accommodate the type which is small. My version of Photoshop is CS6. Never encountered this before. Imported vectored type on a circle from InDesign at 100%, which solved the problem.

Every time I try to set second circle at 750 x 750 it changes current circle and the second one isn't made.

It sounds like you have the first circle selected when you try to place the second circle. Try making a new layer first then put the second circle on that layer.

Am I missing something, I did not see you create a path for the text? I have done this before but in an older PS version. Is it not working for me because I rasterized my layer?

Hi James, the circle shape is the path. PS considers all vector shapes as paths. Once you rasterized the layer it was no longer a vector shape, so no longer a path.

@@HTGGeorge think you sir, I figured it out eventually, old photoshop did not do the same thing, only thing is in this method adding the text at the bottom of a circle was weird, I had to use transform and move things around a few times. But it all came out great. Thanks for your video.

Make sure that the text cursor is right on the line of the circle. If it is outside you will see a square around the text cursor, if it is inside you will see a circle around it. So you can see which direction you are off.

Check the color of your type. It may still be the same color as the background.

@@HTGGeorge 2020. I found the problems and corrected it. I had "fill dummy text" checked in my preferences.

Technically all images are in square boxes. You may be just seeing that box when the layer is selected. Try selecting a different layer, does the box go away?
