India aaj bhi ego ke basis pe dhandha banata hai. Tum chahe kitna talented ho ho..talent ka measurement India main IiT, iIM, McKinsey, Bain wagera hai. Tumhe 2 minute dega nhi invester tumhe sunne ke liye but ek Bain waley ko poora din dega gappe maarne ke liye.

Swiggy came in 2014. Zomato was founded in 2008. Zomato was menu searching website like he mentioned. They pivoted to online delivery much later

I had this idea in 2014 when I was 17 or 18 at 2am because I was frustrated that I can’t get my favourite restaurant to deliver food at my home. I worked all night Making business plan and everything but all calculations added that it would be very very difficult to generate profit and years of cash burning would be required and at that time I had absolutely no experience and no guts to ask my parents to start a business on my own so I let it go! And thank god I did because there was no way I could have competed with zomato and would have ended up with heaps of losses😅

Food delivery vendors aren't new to India. The first one was Dial-a-Meal, and then it was followed by Tastykhana, foodpanda, and then Zomato and Swiggy eventually took over. Even Uber eats and Dunzo were there, but even they failed. I have been following them since so many years.
