I have the Savage GRS in a 6.5 Creedmoor and I absolutely love mine. When I first sighted it in with factory Norma 130 grain golden target match bullets, number 6-10 shots grouped in a .41” group.

Thanks for the great video Mark and Sam. Mark, how do you compare the GRS Berserk to the Bell and Carlson rig you usually use? Here in the US they are close to the same price.
@markandsamafterwork
@markandsamafterwork 6 жыл бұрын
I am not familiar with all the B&C stocks, but If you are talking about the A5, then the Bell and Carlson is a way better precision shooting stock, just not as easy to adjust and quiet a bit heavier, so the GRS would be a better hunter, Cheers

Hi Mark I have that exact same rifle and stock set up but have not yet had the chance to shoot 1000m yet but it's great to see it's achievable with my similar setup. Could I kindly ask what type of powder you are using to propel the 140 grainers as I am after those types of velocities. I'm using varget at the moment but there's only limited fps in my load data book for it. Great to see a video with similar equipment. Altho your sightron scope would be alot better than my nikkostirling Lr. Again great videos mate cheers😊

Thanks Man, I use the AR2209 powder, its called the Hodgdens H4350 over there, and yes I would suggest investing in a level up in scopes, Cheers

I'm using 42.5gr of Reloder 17 and seeing 2810fps out of a 20" barrel. I've heard good things about Reloder 16 but haven't verified it myself.

I know this an old video. With that said, I just ordered a GRS Berserk and a 20 MOA base for my Howa. Mine was $435.00 shipped and another $60.00 for my 20 MOA base. I can't wait for the UPS man to drop it off.

Hi Mark. I'm looking at Remington 700 or Howa 1500 for my next rifle in 308 but can't decide, could do with your opinion on them. What would you say with owning both is the most well made and accurate rifle, been looking at reviews etc and alot of people say the Howa is pretty much a Remington 700 action that's better made. What do you think. (Sorry for all the questions) Cheers.
@markandsamafterwork
@markandsamafterwork 6 жыл бұрын
Both are descent options, but really depends on the individual rifle and if you are planning to use as is or build into something else, otherwise the Howa is cheaper and Rem a little better serviced. Beyond that I do not make recommendations, there are lots of videos here on our channel to help work this stuff out, hope that helps, Cheers

hi Mark and Sam, huge fan from aus nsw. do you feel like if the pro varmint stock fit you perfectly, the GRS stock would have little to no performance gain? for me the grs stock is $270 more is it worth it or would a correctly pillar and glass bedded pro varmint produce a more consistent shot in your opinion. not accounting for shooter error. Cheers for your time This extra money could also be spent on the optic and reloading equipment how do you feel?
@markandsamafterwork
@markandsamafterwork 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Harrison, well I prefer the feel of the Pro Varmint, but really depends on all the details, but beyond that I don't try to make personal recommendations, Cheers and all the best.

In pulling this rifle apart did you notice a good way to fit a RPS bipod spigot to it? Just asking as i have been approved for the same rifle and will be wanting to fit the rps bipod. From what i can see its just drill in and set the spigot in resin. Or is there more that needs doing? Cheers guys🤙🏽

Do you have a tip for me? When I try to pull the rifle with the GRS stock into my shoulder (even slgithly) with my right hand at the off-axis grip, I get a horizontal movement to the right, a twist and move out of my target. Do you have that problem as well? Thanks in advance!
@markandsamafterwork
@markandsamafterwork 3 жыл бұрын
No but not the way we tend to shoot, we have lots of videos that show what we do, and also shown some slight issues with that stock, but maybe start with, don't pull the rifle into your shoulder?
