Howard Leight Impact Sport - Fake vs Real (Buyer beware!)

Bought a pair of Howard Leight Impact Sport active hearing protection from eBay for a few dollerydoos and they were a VERY good fake. I did some research and found out this is pretty common so wanted to show you the difference between the fake and real ones!

You said that on battery slot there should be springs rather than metal thing. But in Your movie both have those metal things no springs.

@@aussiegunsauceGot my pairs, they match your genuine one. Ripping the manual on opening seems to confirm genuinness: Same thing happended to me, the manual is actually slighty glued to the cardboard backing of the store display style packaging. I have just received one of the fakes. The sound quality is so terrible compared to the real ones (which I borrowed from my brother).

I bought two fake ones. One works ok. The volume switch isn't great and the noise protection is not as good as the real ones. The other ones (used in this video) are completely broken. They don't turn on at all. I suppose it would be better to just buy normal ear muffs from Berretta or something instead of these electronic ones I'd you can't afford the real ones.

Hey mate. Would you say the cheap ebay ones are "good enough" for the price? Is there actually $100 difference in sound quality between the real and the fakes?

Hey Mate! I actually just bought a pair of Walker Razor to test and there's a HUGE difference in sound quality. That's not even comparing the fake Howard Leight ones which sounded atrocious! The real Impact sport have directional hearing, so you can hear where the sound is coming from.. the Razor ones don't. It just sounds like "sound"! In both ears, regardless of where from!

Yeah ok, so you would put the real Howard leights above the walker razors?

@@boarshooter90 For hunting: Absolutely, no competition.. For shooting at a range or anything else, not so much.. They should* protect your ears just as well. The benefit to the Howard over walker (in my opinion), is the directional audio.. i.e, With the Howard, you can hear the direction the sound is coming from! Makes a huge difference. I just recorded a quick video to explain this.. I'll try and upload it within 24 hours for you ;)
