It's like I always say - when you're a veteran actor who's gotten roped into making what's clearly a bad movie, you have two options. One, phone in your performance, collect the paycheck, and escape with your dignity. Or two, which is my favorite, have a blast hamming it up, leave toothmarks on all the scenery, and be the only thing people actually enjoy about the whole fiasco. Jeremy Irons took the second option for the terrible D&D movie a couple decades ago, and God bless him for it.

I love how the werewolf queen and the doorkeeper goon physically match the secret necklace halves together, to make 100% sure it is a fit, as if their enemies keep trying to gain entry with counterfeit BFF pendants. Between that and all the edits it is like the director thinks the audience is comatose with stupidity.

I concur this is one of the best B-movies, I saw it like 4x already and it is fun. That song is actually cool. And it is filmed in Czech Republic - what else you want?!

The old man turning into a werewolf we see at minute nine is no other than the greate, late Ferdy Mayne who played Count Krolock in Polanskis THE FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS. I talked with Ferdy about HOWLING II - he told me that he made the movie just for one single reason: to be able to spend a few days together with his old pal Christopher Lee in Prague.

Yes, and not only that, but the actor, Reb Brown, played Captain America in two TV movies in the 1970s, and in the second one he fought a villain played by Christopher Lee! They worked together twice!

You're getting a glimpse of a phenomenon we in the 80s would call "TV Punker". It's when you can't cast actors with real mohawk cuts. So instead, you have people with Miss America hair that's sprayed with temporary colors. On the topic of New Wave, someone obviously thought they were making a sequel to The Hunger, and not The Howling. So they tried to reenact the Goth club scene.

I clicked on this because I remember this movie. The original was grand, too. The final scene: "How do you want it (her hamburger), honey?" "Rare".

Actually, I like this movie, though I haven'g seen it in a long time. It's cheesy and hilariously funny even though I don't think it was meant to be. And I actually kind of like the theme song. Trivia: Mariana is played by Marsha Hunt, the mother of Mick Jagger's daughter Karis and the inspiration for the Stones' song 'Brown Sugar'. If I remember right, wanting to see what Mick's ex looked like was the reason I watched this the first time I saw in the TV Guide that it was coming on late night TV o so many years ago.
