@@ajpimpsall That's because some people are PAYING to get content promoted on KZfaq, instead of being paid for it. The irony is that they are producing the precise kind of content most people once ran to KZfaq to get away from. I don't completely hate Kimmel or Colbert, but I find Mark here funnier than them. Maybe, but from my personal experience they look like passion projects. They have love in them but that's pretty much what they have. Scams on the other hands are devoid of care and magic. Even Boll could shot his movies competently and direct a scene but if you can find anything even remotely personal or passionate then... well... I dunno. I didn't planned this sentence very well. XD Neil Breen, just like Jame Nguyen, are piss poor filmmakers but share a lot in common. Their movies are telling more on their personality than anything else: pretty much like having a group tour in their convoluted, twisted minds...

@doublep19805 жыл бұрын
I dunno if that's the case with Neil Breen,supposedly he made millions in real estate and that's how he finances these abominations. But generally speaking,money laundering and trash movies are going hand in hand. For example,Uwe Boll's movies were all financed by exploiting a loophole in german tax law,where you could get huge tax write offs,as a movie producer.His investors actually got money from an EU fund for cinema,which was intended to support film makers! The german gouverment has closed this loophole,couple of years ago that's why he stopped making movies. Also,lots of organised crime is using b-movies and porn productions,for money laundering.It's rumoured that many big porn studios are either owned or have ties to organised crime. And then,there's Tommy Wiseau's ''The Room'',which off. cost 6 million USD to make.Greg Sestero(the guy who plays ''Mark'') asked Wiseau about the money in his book and Tommy claimed that he made the money during a business endeavour with some partners,where they imported italian designer clothes from S.Korea and sold them to various boutiques in Cali.Not knock-offs,genuine italian stuff,Gucci,Armani,Versace etc. And if that doesn't sound shady,get this. A journalist who tried to make a documentary about Tommy Wiseau was hit with a restraining order by his lawyers,nobody actually knows that guy's real name or where he comes from.

I think Double Down is a - possibly very personal - story about loss and acceptance. I've watched it a number of times and I'm seeing something along the lines of a man who loses a loved one, and goes on a spree of retribution against the world he feels that took her from him. His psychosis and denial run so deep that he keeps the remains of the woman around. Throughout the film he uses his skills as a previously sanctioned covert operative for his own selfish ends. Towards the end of the movie he has a moment of clarity (the line "When I sleep, I'm with you. When I'm awake, I'm so alone" is a turning point) and realization that his vengence won't bring her back, and he regrets his plans of destruction. Some of the last shots is of him as a boy walking down a road, with the her gone, which symbolizes him letting go of his past. The very last scene is him driving down the highway, her in the backseat, and thanking her for having loved him. He is now free, and can live again. Edit: Forgot to mention - I think the title Double Down (as in doubling down) may be referring to how he clings on to the past and tries to undo what has happened.

@TaramiBedona3 жыл бұрын
@@enlightenednormie242 Hi, no, I'm being sincere. Don't blame you though, most people look at me like I've said the moon is made out of cheese when I put this opinion forward. That said, I don't necessarily think all of Breen's movies are sincere - I think he has become self-aware over time - but I believe Double Down is. Thing is, Double Down was his first movie. When you make your first movie, especially if it's in a serious genre like a spy thriller, and before the world has labelled you a hack, you try to make the best movie you can. That includes having subtext and pretend to be "high film". It just happens to be almost incomprehensible unless you know what Breen was thinking when he made the movie. Breen is not a wholly incompetent idiot. An odd bird for sure but going by his professional background, he's of at least average intellect. And, as poorly structured and shot as his films are, they are somewhat complete. Completing a movie does not happen by chance, even movies this poor, so he clearly has dedication to filmmaking. So it seems logical that under the janky exterior, these movies make sense to Breen. Now, if we were talking about Twisted Pair, then I'd agree that it's just Breen hamming it up for his fanbase.
@Thegr8MC3 жыл бұрын
@@TaramiBedona Your analysis actually makes a bit of sense. The thing about art is that everybody has something to say. Their own story, their own message, their own perspective. Sadly, not everybody has the technical know how to competently realize their vision. Yes, Neil's movies suck. They have terrible acting, writing, cinematography, effects, production, terrible everything! His movies are a laughing stock that I and everyone else who's watched them pretty much only watches in an ironic "so bad it's good" sense. But, if you look past all the bad production quality, there is clearly someone who has a story to tell, a message to send. He just lacks the filmmaking competency to do so. And really, a whole lot of quote on quote terrible media actually has some very good underlying messages and story elements if you look past the badness. The Star Wars prequels for example, casting aside the bad acting and cheesy dialouge has a very good story about government corruption and Shakespearean tragedies. Plan 9 from Outer Space has an underlying message about manknd's self destructive behavior. Even the Joel Schumacher Batman films have a few moments of genuine characterization. So yeah, I'm glad there's people out there who look past the cheese factor and actually take the time to intellectually analyze a piece of media.

someguy ihate or, is it a custom porn scam? Where he keeps making movies to eventually have a feature length film worth of nude scenes of him and beautiful women.

Strange but true twist: Uwe ended up having one of the best reviewed restaurants in Vancouver. I’m too poor to even touch the front door of the place but I hear it’s amazing.

Did anyone read the description on the promo shot at the end? . "The controversial story of a lone genius who closes down the Las Vegas strip...The government can't stop him...as he reunites with his dead girlfriend each night". SO MUCH to unpack. Not touching the punctuation issues, he never seemed to bother the vegas strip beyond killing that one wrong groom and instantly killing that other guy...IN 5 MINUTES! That's just a regular Friday night in Vegas. But the funniest part is that it reads like the Government is trying to stop him from reuniting with his dead girlfriend each night. "Hey you! Stop reuniting with your dead girlfriend!

Can't believe I'm saying this but I think Tommy Wiseau is better

Yeah, Wiseau would have had the girl nonchalantly say ..."The results are in. I definitely have cancer."

That tee-shirt is great!! I think wearing it would be an interesting social experiment to see how many people understand the reference, plus if they do I already know we're going to be best friends.
