Glad I quit Genshin before this blew up lol. I've seen leaks and those really disappointed me, not necessary the sky colour but the overall out of place design and the even more kiddy direction with the saturation to the max and Pokemon.

The correct name is Ororon, but in Asian speaking countries, R in some cases is changed with L for pronunciation proposes, same with O and U. We still have no knowledge which role he plays is the story and most likely not of a deity, if he does, I'll eat my words, but probably he plays more of what the name Ororon name means: someone very emotional which feelings can led him to extremes. People in the LATAM communities give little to no relevance to deities names unless we are talking of the deity itself; its very common find people with deities names or even countries names, as mostly an appreciation of what the name represents or because it sounded cool. If you wana make a true black character in anime style, they will look like crap due to how shadows and anime work (anime style usues lots of different type of dark/brown shadows). Its extra work and pain in ass, not racism. You have to pretty much design their clothing and hair to be full of colors and this also limits your creativity. Most of black characters you see in anime use brown color. So this is one solution Mihoyo can use. Onyankopon is probaly only one i can think of where they pulled it off and Canary from Hunter X Hunter.

Ironically, Korea and Japan also have specific beauty standards but they don't hesitate to portray people of color even darker ones. Take Korea for example, one of their games (Counterside) features this absolute unit of a man called Replacer King. He's black. People should realize that representation isn't a consideration for Hoyoverse, nevermind it being a priority either. And either spend and pull for the pretty characters or just quit the game.

For example, they could have taken Columbus and make Columbina, a woman inspired by a man, and nobody would rage about it. You know what's just a video game and not too deep? Sonic Unleashed. Street Fighter. Its insane how easy it is to get what you're paying for and expecting to see from real world inspired games. So it's ok for western media to change the skin color or identity of a significant individual in history from other countries like Cleopatra, Achilles, Queen Charlotte etc but it's not ok if another country (China in this case) to change the skin color of a historical figure. Personally i don't really care about the race or color of characters as long as the character is good development wise, how they fit into the story & their role in it. The character could be green, blue, white, black, yellow doesn't matter and it's getting really tiring that all the attention is on that instead of what the content will be....in a video game!
