Thanks a lot! And, I totally agree about how some companies make upgrading difficult. When I first upgraded the RAM on that system, I was afraid I'd break something in the process. Once I figured it out, it was totally worth it.

I recently did a SSD and memory upgrade on this model HP All-in-One 24-f0010. The hard drive case only has a small opening wide enough for the hard drive's Power and SATA connector. If you are upgrading to a SSD, be sure to buy a mounting bracket that mounts the SSD all the way to one side. The mounting bracket I tried was slightly off center and the hard drive case covered part of the SATA connection on the SSD. I had to order a different mounting bracket to properly mount the SSD inside the hard drive case.

If you try this be super careful when you lift on the screen. The one I tried to open cracked as soon as I put slight pressure on the screen. I hate when computer manufacturers build computers around the lcd. There are many models (Dell) that you open from the bottom and back so you're not putting stress on the lcd. Thanks for the video though.

It's absolutely ridiculous how stupidly difficult manufacturers make these products. There's NO reason that they couldn't make the thing easier to get into except what they want is for you to throw it away and buy another. I personally think that they should be end-user accessible by LAW. If I want to install more RAM or a better drive, it's MY machine and I shouldn't be forced to possibly break it when I do upgrade.
@chriswilson5543 жыл бұрын
I thought this one was a pretty easy disassembly. One screwdriver and a plastic spudger around the edges and you have access to everything in about five minutes. They even left LOTS of flack with the cables under the display
@StewieGriffin5052 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is part of the right-to-repair movement, however, this computer is made to look sleek, so its repair method becomes more like a laptop. If you have ever worked with an iMac, you would think this is a piece of cake.

I recently found an old Macbook from 2007-ish and was amazed that you can just pop the battery out and the hard drive and RAM slots are right there. I wish every computer was that convenient to replace parts on! my other old laptops are pretty easy too, you just take out a ton of screws and the cover comes right off and everything's right there. too bad they don't make stuff like that anymore, now I have to be worried about breaking the screen in half just to open up my HP all in one.
@tracyfortune3297 Жыл бұрын
@@DuckInGameStop Your Macbook is a laptop. From 2007, no less. Try opening a newer Apple iMac AIO. Hope you don't crush the screen, break the cable, or get killed touching their non-shielded PSU inside.

Great video and easy to follow! Question for you. I have the 24-f0066, but would you happen to know if all HP All in ones have the processor soldered in? I wanted to upgrade from an I3 to an I5 processor but researching says its socket type is BGS 1356, which is supposed to be soldered. Do you happen to know if the processors are upgradeable on these All In Ones? Thanks
@7c9ND2el3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I've never looked into the possibility of soldering a faster CPU into an all-in-one. I'd imagine it can be done, since people have soldered in CMOS chips. I guess if you have some really good soldering skills, and your motherboard supports the CPU you want to install, then you should be good. Great question, though!

I've got one here in the workshop that's not powering on, in fact when the power supply is plugged in the LED indicator on the power brick turns off. @7c9ND2el4 жыл бұрын
It pains me to say this but if her fan failed, and the connections are good, I'd say that there is no fixing it. She'd have to order and replace the fan or just buy a new all-in-one PC. The advantage to buying a new PC is that it would be under warranty. The other thing that comes to mind is that the heatsink isn't getting good contact with the chipset - or atleast the thermal paste isn't doing its job.

@7c9ND2el3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Jose! Going off of the model in the video, I don't think there is another internal connector for a secondary drive, nor the space to mount it. If you are looking for a way to have two drives, my advice would be to either partition your internal drive or attach an external USB drive. Before you do anything, though, be sure to make a backup of anything important. And if you found a way around the problem that the community could find useful, please post it! Thanks.
