Hello IT Pros! This is Alvendril. In this Video, "HP Bios update using a USB | New Models", I show how to Update the Bios version on new HP laptops. I made a video about this topic before. However, there is a new way to do it on latest HP computer models. The old video is listed below.

While your process differed from mine, which was more automatic due to it being the store bought version of a newer HP, it worked out very well for me. There was a "miss" somewhere between your original BIOS Update for older models and newer models, and somewhere in between it all worked out correctly. Thank you for your videos. Your have an enthusiastic property within your personality that makes your videos far more enjoyable to watch than other ones I've seen. Keep up the good work. SUBSCRIBED!!!

I don't even get the option to update the bios myself. After pressing F10 I am thrown into the bios but nowhere in any of the tabs does it allow me to update it.

At 9.55 when clicked NEXT the error shows Required HP UEFI BIOS Update Utilities is not found in source or destination folder, unable to continue.

Brother my laptop is HP Elitebook 8460p, Windows 8.1 64-bit. BIOS is not saving its settings I am tired lots of methods applied. Current BIOS version is 68SCF Ver. F.42, 7/15/2013 and Available BIOS version is 68SCF Ver. F.67, 2018 CMOS Cell is OK 3.06V.

Hi, I used the same way you did to update the bios by USB for HP 745 G6 but show message "The system could not find one of the bios update binary file.........etc" .Please can you help to solve this issue?

Hello, when that happens the process did not, (for some reason), copy all the files needed. I normally re create the USB flash drive and try again. Hope it helps Thanks for the comment!

there's no button for BIOS update when i hit F10 at startup, so i'm not even sure where to update them from. i have an HP pavilion x360 that i just bought the other day. the BIOS version that it has is F.04, and the latest is F.05 rev A.

Hello sir My hp elite book 8470p boot on but it doesn't display any on the screen( the black screen). What happen is that when you boot the computer, the caplock and numb lock keys blink 5times then the fan will start to run without displaying any thing on the screen. We have tried changing ram, cmos battery, check on cpu all is okay. We tried reversing bios by using this keys combination win + b and also win + v. All this didn't work. What couldbe the problem.?

Hello sir can you plz help me after updating my laptop bias my laptop dead nothing can I see in my display I m from Nepal . In Nepal we don’t have so many choices to repair but my technician says he need bias bin file do download but couldn’t find it. If we find the bias bin file my laptop will raise again plz help sir. My laptop model is Hp Spectre x360 15t 2018. Model i7 8550u UHD 620 display Nvidia GeForce 150 dedicated graphics 16gb ram 512 ssd. Thanks

Hello Sid, For most HP laptops you can find the Bin file (which the update) inside the folder where you unzip the Bios update you download from the HP Website. For this video you can see it in minute 8:37 - 8:50, in the lower part of the folder, its name is: R70_010405.bin So, download the bios for your model, unzip/uncompress it and look for that file. Could you please give me this 'HP Firmware Update and Recovery' application, as my laptop is very old that it's bios setup doesn't keep this application after extracting the setup. When I extract the setup it directly tries to install the bios on that computer only, where it is extracted. And therefore I am not able to make usb drive for bios for other laptop. But I need to make usb drive for other laptop's bios recovery as the laptop is not able to start as its bios is corrupted. So please if you have any suggestion please comment to what should I do in this case. Otherwise please give me the application that you install further for making bios recovery usb. Thank in advance.

Have you found a way to update your bios? I'm having the same issue, there is no 'HP Firmware Update and Recovery' application in my case. I have a HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF

(UPDATE 21/04/2022) i suggest u a newest fastest option to update bios....1) disable bitlocker 2) install bios normally copying bios in your disk drive unit (choose the first option..update...)

i did the same process as above. i updated the bios and now my laptop is always showing black screen with no contents. i can't access my bios UEFI anymore. f1 f2 f10 is not working. all blank. pls help.

also in my BIOS setup flash drive. i have those bios update files but, it does not seem to contain the firmware.bin. dunno why. i downloaded the bios file from the hp support website. i am lacking firmware.bin

Hello Zennosh, Sorry to hear that, i’ve been there...... You can try the following process on a HP laptop. Depending on the model if may or may not work. Turn the laptop off, connect the charger to the wall. Next, with the computer still shut down, press the "windows" key and the "B" key at the same time, while doing that press the power button for 1-3 seconds. Then, release ONLY the power button. You should hear a beep or the screen might turn on, (some times it takes several seconds for this to happen. Keep pressing the "windows" and "B" keys). Finally, the Bios recovery process will start automatically, follow the instructions on the screen. If this process doesn't work, repeat it a few more times. If still doesn't, either your laptop model does not support the Bios recovery process or there is a physical issue with the computer, most likely the motherboard. Hope it helps!

@@MyITWorkshop well i did the same thing .i used the windows + B method but it did no help. i think now my bios is corrupt. Even after the bios installation, there is no development. only blank screen. I think i need to buy new bios chip or recode and it seems to be unavailable in my area T_T

My laptop is pretty new. just purchased about 4 months ago. i opened it to install my additional RAM. but it then corrupted my bios. does equipping or disassembling computer parts without removing laptop main battery, damages the laptop like that? i had never encountered BIOS problem in my life. i am really starting to hate HP laptops. with my ACER laptop, i never had problem for several years.

May i know how to find the bios admin password ? I can't access to the bios setup without the password. Need help please!

Hello, The Bios password is normally setup by the person who configures the computer for the first time. If your computer belongs to a company, you would have to ask the IT team. If is your personal; on a laptop , it depends on the model, you may need to remove the Cmos battery and leave it out for 30 min, then put back again, turn on the laptop and see if the bios password is removed. Again, laptop are more picky for Bios password reset. The other option is to call support from the manufacturer. Hope it helps Thanks for the comment!

its aggrivating af when it's working for others but not for self.... watched both videos, no image files in bios/new folder.... I could choke a cat right now
