Man how did I miss this video during my build lol. I like the shock setup. You may have answered my ESC mounting dilemma too lol.

Very very nice Keith!!! Such an impressive machine you have built and it's great to see it all in one shot. I'll be working on my savage for the rest of the weekend and can't wait to get those innovative RC shock mounts!

I know this was 6 years ago but what steering crank have you used as I've just ordered the chassis and the centre diff bracket...I'd like to have dual servo on my xl...info would be much appreciated

Very helpful, thanks :) I'm about to buy an alza kit, I have a spare 48T vorza diff to use, so I'm going to buy an 11T pinion now. Can I still run the 11/48 setup with 6S, or does the motor get too hot?
@krlaturn8 жыл бұрын
+maxjb168 With stock Savage sized tires you will be fine running 11/48 gearing. I am running Proline Trencher X 3.8s so that adds addtl diameter and rotational mass. It will also help to add a Yeah Racing dual tornado fan motor heat sink. You wont regret getting the Alza center diff set up! The Savage handles so much better with it and it saves the front and rear diffs! The biggest downfall of a stock savage is the locked center tranny.. Puts so much stress on the F/R diffs!

@@krlaturn hey bud what’s the best weight oil to start with in the Centre diff well the 5sc diff I’ll be using Thanks
@krlaturn3 жыл бұрын
@@gonzodetroitify it’s more of preference. But I’d start with 500k. I wound up using 1million weight in mine.

hi there .. I notice that innovative rc has a few different shock brackets ..which did you use on this truck ? 2x3mm or 2x5mm ? thanks in advance
@krlaturn8 жыл бұрын
I don't remember their bring two options and Unfortunately I have parted with this vehicle. I made the mistake of selling it. It was one of the most durable RC's I've ever owned! I do know that offers a few different kits based on what Savage you have. I used the Savage X / flux kit. Hope this helps!

what heat sink for the motor are you using? do the fans mount right onto the heatsink or was there modifying involved?
@krlaturn8 жыл бұрын
It's the Yeah Racing tornado fan heat sink. The fans mount to the heat sink. m.ebay.com/itm/Yeah-Racing-Heat-Sink-Twin-Tornado-High-Speed-Fans-Set-1-8-Motor-Car-YA-0261BK-/381360060399?nav=SEARCH

+Bulletproof RC thanks for the info. what pinion are you running?
@krlaturn8 жыл бұрын
+ised hoy I'm running an 11 tooth pinion and a 52 tooth spur for 6s. Remember I'm running the Alza center diff conversion which changes the gear ratio substantially.

What size pinion and spur gear are you using? Thanks
@krlaturn8 жыл бұрын
I've found 52t spur / 11t pinion to be best for 6s. I ran 48t spur / 11t pinion on 4s. My 48 is a Vorza diff. My 52 is a Ofna spider diff. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Do you know if the alza diff conversion will fit in the savage flux hp?

@@krlaturn hey thanks for the info and yeah i figured a center differential would helo this truck alot although i wasnt having trouble with diffs i was having trouble with tranmission drive gear. What diff would you reccomend i get for the center differential?
@krlaturn4 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Breeden if I remember correctly Alza recommends the Vorza Flux center diff. But you might want to contact Dejan Toplak (support@alza-racing.com) to be sure. Dejan responds quickly

Yes i actually msg them lastnight and he responded very quickly but i did for get to ask about the center diff i just msg him again. Thanks for all of your help and fast responses as well much appreciated.
