Thank you so much for all you do for us! It's my dream to join the French Foreign Legion, I'm training everyday as hard as possible to pass selection. I am concerned about my age however I'm 29 turning 30 by the time I knock on the door I hope so badly to make it as it's all I want in my life to become a solider of the FLL. I'm from South Africa.

human qualities and no prejudice ... true words I still recall as a civvie since the 2001 , meeting an ex sergent 2 Rep , Momo le Morocain ... moi ex caporal chef and english , both lauging , drinking a beer together and talking things very few people could understand . I go into the Arab cité and they leave me in peace because they know my connection with Momo ... freres d’armes

One of the most important things you said was that politicians have NO clue. They never felt the fear of being under fire and running out of ammo because of a logistic foul up. Or weapons that don't work because of cheap designs accepted because a politician wants to help a constituent business. Or what it means to have your life in the hands of someone else and having to trust them.

Well I shoudl say MOST politicians. Some have. Like our Congressmen Crenshaw.

thomas as you know i was a soldier for 20 years in us army. an nco most of that time. when i went in in 1968 we still had the draft so we were exposed to people not only from all over the us but all differnt life experiences college graduates craftsmen farmer homeless like myself many times a college graduate was subordinate to a highs school dropout because he out ranked the college grad. but we learned from each other recently a man who says he is a retired navy seal i believe he was anyway he made some comments about viet nam i got very angry for the reasons you mentioned here this fellow was onloy a little boy when viet nqm was going i went for a short tour and for 2 full length tours i got very angry when this fellow wanted to pretend he was an expert oj that subject and i said why not shut your dam mouth when you know nothing of what you speelk.. i retired in 1988 before the gulf war i never ran my mouth qbout the middle east war because i never was there i hope he got the understanding that i told him hd didnt earn the right to give advice regarding viet nam i like your message about the human quality i like to call it a positive attitude. i met many men too intelligent to do somethings yet the uneducated could accomplish it easily for they simply did not question everything but follow directions i gave aqnd it got done quickly and as easily as possible whereas the college boy was too dam smart i used to say some people are educated beyond their intelligence.. i still like that saying.. anyway i hope i gave you a little laugh hee and have a good day

I really like what you said about people commenting on the war in Ukraine, I also like your channel and that you picked my country to move to, I am glad you like it. About the war in Ukraine I don´t know if I have the right to talk about the war, I am nothing but a former homeguard medic, I went to the French Foreign Legion at 18, stayed 1 day then decided to leave, I did 3 months in the International legion of Ukraine in 2022. Keep up the good work Thomas

Hi The Legionnaire my dad was a Tirailleur Algérien in ww2 from the battle in Belgium in 1940 to the battle in Africa to Monte Cassino and Landing of Provenance up to Germany. All he said when I was asking how was being a soldier in ww2 dad? He’s answer was, son war is misery, people die all around you war is bad.
