Fantastic footage there - really looking like a futuristic portal there. Yes, HS2 is expensive, but it has been designed to have a design life of well over 100 years...with minimal maintenance. I think that once the current phase is done, and the landscape restored, people will be demanding for more high-speed rail!

awsome views and music ! The tunnels at start looks like a futuristic scene from Dune (with a train/worm popping out) or Star Trek...this looks exotic....and I am a fan. The HS2 is cutting edge for the UK...and hopefully concepts and engineering techniques can expand to Canada and USA.

All these construction site techniques can be later used to extend HS2 to Crewe, and help EWR and NPR. All these techniques can "future proof" the UK rail for the next 100 years...they need these in the USA too. See recent Green Signals interview with Rail Minister Huw Merriman...to confirm or deny many things.

Nice one SIMONE, dear. Yep, they're definitely striking camp. To be honest, for all these years I thought those huge ducts were supplying fresh air into the tunnels. Now I find out they were sucking stuff out of the mountain. Well, you learn something every day, I spose. I wonder what they are going to do with 20 miles-worth of tin cans? I doubt the recycling centre in Newyears Green Lane can cope with that amount of junk.

First of all, you spelt 'Colne' wrong, and secondly that's the Chiltern Tunnel!
