Hm, that looks like a very steep drop in the tunnel down past Aston le Walls to Boddington. I can imagine the onboard announcements explaining the sensation of vertigo and the hurried lunge for the vomit bags - 'We are experiencing some turbulence and apologise for any inconvenience to our passengers', hee hee

It definitely looks like their plan is to build the most expensive railway line ever constructed anywhere on earth. Never seen any of those articicial tunnels on the French LGV network.

It looks like a green tunnel where the tunnel is constructed in an open cutting then backfilled over the top of the tunnel with earth and grassed over.

The French project doesn't feature as many tunnels, but who said it's a better project than the British one? Another issue is the unpredictably high inflation, hence the rising costs, but in fact, the pound's value is lower.
