I loved the story about the sailing capsize. I can relate to that experience! Actually I was thinking of renting a dinghy from the sailing club when I arrive inHH in a few weeks, but I am not sure I could right a capsized dinghy at my advanced age.

Even at 45, when on a banana boat I could not get back on. Looks great fun though.

Enjoyed story about death railway. Out of curiosity. Are those who make KZfaq videos considered to be working.

Officially I suppose if you are making money from it, yes. Even charity work requires a work permit. We all have work permits so not an issue for us, though we do not make any money from the channel. Many people just make videos for fun, so not an issue.

Spoiler: That part of the river is now (since the 1960s) called the Kwae Yai River and was previously called Mae Klong. The Film was based on the book "Bridge on the River Kwai" which was a fictional novel written by a Frenchman and based on real events on the Burma Railway in WWII and his own experiences as a POW in Malaysia.
